One of the two was. I'm sure that idiotic incident I had a year ago April with my side skirt isn't helping. But I'm not presently experiencing the issues that Crete seems to be famous for, so I can afford to hang tight.

Where do they find these dispatchers? Here's the message I sent in earlier today

Nothing too crazy here, didn't even need a response back. I got one anyway:

I'm glad I got this response. Because after 7+ years of driving I wasn't aware that sliding the tandems would change the weight distribution. This to me confirms one of two things: either dispatch thinks we're really that stupid or, dispatch is worse than I thought. BTW I didn't bother replying. Stuff like this I generally won't dignify with a response.

we can't see your picture, it's tough posting a picture. SSB posted how a few pages back. I think it works.

Ok done with pictures for awhile. While they may be worth a thousand words they're also a giant pain in the ### with my iPad... Not so much with the laptop but there's an extra step involved there and I didn't have time.

Anyway, the message I sent to dispatch said the load was overweight, returning to shipper and the weights (600 over on the drives with the tandems full forward). It took them an hour to respond "did you try sliding the tandems?" hence the reason I'm convinced either they think I'm stupid or they're not paying attention (i.e. doing their job). Not that I'm surprised with the caliber of night/weekend dispatch, just disappointed. Also, by the time these geniuses sent that question I had already left the shipper drove to the Pilot and rescaled.

We use to have that problem at Social Circle, and they would say the same thing...and I would tell them "the only way to slide any further forward is to weld another couple slider rails in front of these to extend them forward." Their reply "you'll have to get with AMS for that, let us know what your ETA is when repairs are done"...so sarcasm doesn't work either.

Does Crete still do Social Circle? Haven't seen it mentioned in a while.

That's the problem when a majority of the office people know nothing about trucking, and often know nothing, period.

I had one weekend dispatch drone tell me that the only place you needed to carry chains in the WHOLE USA during winter was near the Eisenhower tunnel on I-70 in Colorado.

The first time I ran into a dispatcher like this was with another company, years ago. He, at least, was a likable, friendly guy, but had never been more than 50 miles from where he was born, had no concept of which state was where, distances, let alone trucking.
He would have been a good candidate for a Crete desk jockey except he actually had a personality, and meant well.

Still there and still somewhat of a cluster. It's funny you mention Social Circle... This was a General Mills load too (Roanoke TX)

3 miles from my 5AM delivery here in eastern IN. Gotta love these rural fuel stops....the air is thoroughly saturated with the aroma of....organic materials.....
