Awhile back I tcalled a load at Lenior City, unhooked and bobtailed around the lot searching for an mt, didn't find none so I parked next to another loaded trl and sent a message up requesting the load. One of the shop mechanics or could have been the jackwagon terminal manager for all I know came up and started to get lippy accusing me of dropping a trl with 2 blown tires.....I said Buddy tone that #### down and lets go have a look at your accusation....we walked over yonder to the trl I dropped and NO TIRES WERE BLOWN. The clown replys sorry I thought you brought that other one in.

^^^^^This is the greatest issue I had with Crete. The perpetual conflicts due to inflexibility. Pay good. Equipment pretty good. Atmosphere miserable. I was always productive. But it didn't come easy. I had to be pushy and fight tooth and nail with Ops to meet my standards. They are geared for mediocrity and a lot of drivers are cool with that. I never could be. The planners/computer routinely send out unproductive preplans when there are much more productive loads available. If you let them waste your time they will. Fortunately, I learned early on that my Ops Manager wanted his drivers to push the system. It's conflicting when ALL the Ops personnel subordinate to the Ops Manager want you to just accept the lame preplans to avoid any extra effort. So in effect, I battled with reluctant Ops personnel at the encouragement of the Ops Manager. The multiple load offer system they once had must have been better for the ambitious driver.

Crete hasn't been worth a darn since ostergard took over from acklie..Crete has become a joke...I worked for Shaffer when they had the load select dispatch and that was great..but ostergard is completely against drivers he don't like them never has and never will...he ruined a great co...

It's sounding like I must be the exception here at Crete. I like to be productive, so I'm always trying to deliver early, tcall, or get new appointments whenever I get something unproductive. I usually can be successful at one of the three, sometimes not, but usually can. I've averaged from 2700-2900 miles per full week since I started here 7 years ago. Sometimes communication is less than desirable on the weekends, but my asset manager had been taking very good care of me.
Wild Murphy and Todd270z Thank this. -
^^^^^Actually, your post validates mine. I averaged 11,336 miles per month, and 3052 miles per 7-day week. A 135k per year pace. Your #s (2700-2900) are, according to their advertisements (2900), at or a little below company average. Our standards are simply not the same. Some are content to be average and some strive to do better than average. I posted that I was always productive. Just sharing how I achieved that for those that don't know how to work the system.
