I shoot for 6 hours of sleep a night, if I get any more than that I am sluggish and out of sync the whole day. But, I am much lighter than he is and don't smoke (and have a job where I get some physical activity)

I agree, 6 hours sleep per night is about right for me too. If I get much more I just don't feel like doing anything.

Because a government bureaucrat 1500 miles away knows when you are tired.

Because a lot of today's flipflop wearing seat warming specialists have to get their beauty sleep. Back when we only had to take 8 hrs off, I don't remember seeing so many accidents where drivers crash into stopped traffic back then. Of course, this was before cell phones and easy access to the internet. But it was also when truck drivers were more professional. Now any hairy ### moron that applys for government funding can take a truck driving course at their local community college, get their CDL, then apply at a training company and go thru 2 weeks of training with a trainer and "they iz a truk dreyever :binky:". Free to crash into anyone in their path.
