45 cpm only pays the bills IF you are clicking miles, .... See that's the catch
... If a driver is burning time at shippers or traffic jams or broke down equipment or waiting on dispatchers to get the next load
... That driver cannot afford to run on 45 cpm or at the very least be running 500 miles a day.
These trucking companies desperately need to have a driving force in order to stay in business so just beware of all the carrots they hang out in front of the drivers
.and ...".oh my " are they ever friendly to the fresh drivers out trucking schools for good reasons and it's not because they think you have a great future working for them -

When it comes to this industry I like to say, RESULTS MAY VARY.
I think that 6 lemon Internationals is excessive and unfair when the next driver, whoever or whatever that person may be, was issued a solid truck at Crete without a doubt.
On the other hand, those fleet speced Prostars seem to lack pulling power and are notorious for breaking under pressure , but those little trucks can back a trailer so #### good! While I'm backing in slomo in my cascadia and the petes and kw's are getting their tails in the spots then doing 1 or 2 pull ups to finish(they suck ### at backing btw), the little prostar swings left then right and done if a decent driver is behind the wheel! Those little suckers are slick with backing gotta give it that.Last edited by a moderator: Oct 28, 2015

I've had my issues with breakdown the last month or so, it's frustrating, but sometimes it is what it is. It's not like the company likes breakdowns, they don't make any money with that truck when you're broke down either. The DPF issues are the major problem with the internationals. With that said, even though in September I was in the shop or at home for around 12 days, I still managed to get around 8000 miles for the month. I didn't switch trucks, as mine should be traded in soon and I want to get a new one. I've been at Crete for over 7 years and have always gotten my raise, and have always been right around 125,000 miles for the calender year. Sometimes I think I could be way more productive, but it always seems to work out if you look at it by averages. I'm happy here.

i have been with crete for one year and 5 months on the southeast regional fleet. here are some things i know. i get home every 6 days like clockwork and i take 48 hours off. i have been in the same 2012 prostar for the entire time and it has broken down 3 times but they all break down crete pays me 100 dollars a day while they fix it. i do a lot of drop and hook loads. i have never pulled a hunt or shaffer trailer or even been asked to.the 401k is great with a company match after 1 year. i have used the dental and i had to pay 10 percent of the total cost. hav'nt needed the health yet.all dispatchers lie crete is not an exception to this rule. my only complaint has been the miles lately and the wait between loads.
