I am not naive to think any one company is perfect. My reasons for not being with Roehl anymore has been posted on here and do not need repeating. However out of the bad good came for now we are with another company which has been doing good by us. Yes of course there are little grips but we can live with them. They are few and far between. We are getting better pay, much better miles and are treated with respect. Heck we can even talk to customer service. Something that never happened at Roehl. Just make sure you can live with the down side as well as the perks. Good luck. I don't care what company someone works for we are all on the road for one reason. If the company is good to you great. I just posted that story just to give someone some enlightenment. Just as a FYI another former driver was to be home for his som who was either going to Iraq or coming home, I can't remember which and he experience a snfu on Roehl's end and didn't get home for it. Again its good to see both sides and then decide "Could I live with this if that happened to me."
Crete or Rohel

I'm glad things worked out. It's always hard to know the right way to go; just a crap shoot mostly. For me, it's going to be Crete so hope that works out.

crete is a step above roehl............proly maybe even 2 or 3 steps, which is pretty good being roehl is 2 to 3 steps above swift or werner or the other ugly ones

From what I see running up and down I-75 (GA and FL), and given the OP lives in FL, I'd go with Crete. There seems to be an awful lot of positive comments on them, too, as far as big carriers go.

Thanks ducnut. I'm almost positive that's how I'll go. Giving a little thought to May and McElroy (although not sure flatbedding is my thing).

I'd go with Crete all day long. I'm not saying anything negative about Roehl by saying that, just that, in my opinion, Crete is that much of a better choice. More opportunities, more pay, etc. From what I saw on the road, Roehl's trucks actually looked nicer but not THAT nice.
Good luck. -
Thanks Luzon. Crete does appear to be a fairly class act and I do feel fortunate, being a new guy to this, that I got the pre hire from them.
