I would highly doubt you could switch from Shaffer to Crete at this point in the game. THey would more than likely say NO since I think there is more demand for Reefer (ie) Shaffer for local.
-
your prob right....i just hate reading all these messages people are writing....makes me feel like i made a mistake lol...what about you?Drac1985 Thanks this.

Yeah it made me a little nervous but if you look at all the major carriers out there Crete/Shaffer has far less negative reviews than most. Plus a lot of what has been said is common with the other carriers. I came from Stevens where miles wasnt an issue but they had lousy pay, one hour plus holds on the phone to talk to someone in dispatch, idiotic weekend crew etc etc. As long as I get paid for what I drive and dont get nickle and dimed I'll be happy.

I will say Crete/Shaffer does have less bad reviews. Now that does not mean good news. The last 6mths has been the worst for us. Better than Swift. Thats not saying much.
-
well anythings better than where im at now...350 bucks a week is killing us. As long as they dont completely screw me over with pay, are halfway decent to me, and dont put me in some s*** truck, then it shouldnt be too bad

I'm going to chime in here from experience. I have worked for a couple mega carriers in my 21 years. I find that these organizations rely on the cheap retail freight, They like it because it is high volume, however it is very cutthroat and there is always another mega carrier out there ready to snatch those lanes away. This is why I choose to work for smaller companies, we haul the better paying freight that the megas dont want. They dont want to fool with the customers we have that might only have one or 2 loads a day. That is why I run a consistent 3000 miles a week, every week even during this recession.
easy duz it Thanks this. -
Think how much money companies could make and how happy drivers could be if companies would quit fireing or forcing drivers to quit at an alarming rate.More drivers are quiting/getting fired dailey then what are hired.Keep bringing drivers in to learn their rules/policies ect.Why not just keep the drivers that already know the ropes and give them the miles. But no,companies just have to keep hiring drivers and leaving the more exp driver sitting. That's why no miles.
bigjoel Thanks this. -
