I doubt it was an O/O unless crete does the lease purchase thing. Truck was box stock Century with normal crete paint job so i doubt it was an O/O.
Truck was not blazingly fast but it was definitely capable of better than 65.

The two Crete trucks I drove ran 66mph as verified by GPS sensor. All Crete speedos read two mph slower than actual speed. My last truck would clock 67 mph with new drive tires and a light load.
-
Guess I'll be the one to answer the original question. CCC Trucks are set at 64 or 65 depending on whether set by speedo reading or Qualcom. The reason I say it this way is because mine is set at 65 on the Qualcom readout but the speedo reads 66.5 and I sssllloowwwlllyyy pass CCC and Swift and Scheider Trucks all day log. Looking into the ECM on my Truck; Max Speed parameter is set at 65. So go figure.

Ok, well that probably answers my question.
66-67 is better than 65. And God bless crete for running them that way.
What i really want is 77 and then i'm happy. 75 is ok. 71-2 is acceptable. Anything less than 71mph is SLOW. -
Powell-Peralta;
I don't drive for Crete, I drive for KLLM and that is how KLLM does their trucks. Companies mentioned above are the ones I pass in a KLLM truck.
And if you want the higher speeds mentioned above, go Owner/ Op. -
Ledbetter..... How do you like KLLM ? I got a pre hire from them. So far I haven't herd anything really bad about them.
-
Sal;
Go to my thread that I have in this group under "DAC Reports". It is on top in blue. Lists all different Trucking Companies. Look for KLLM, click on it, and start reading the post titled "KLLM; Back Where I Started From". It is basically a journal of my travels since returning to them back in late March. Will soon be updating it with my last tour of duty. -
Just heard that Crete is making all drivers do a 1/2 hr. PTI first thing each day. Also, they require a 1/2 hr. for fueling, 1/2 hr. for loading, 1/2 hr. for unloading, 1/2 hr. for each stop, 1/2 hr. for each weigh station you go through. Figure it out. That will cut your bottom line now, won't it?
I worked for Crete for 8 months and I wouldn't recommend them for anything. They have some rude dispatchers that don't have a clue on what is going on out on the road. The trucks are worn out and they get upset when you keep complaining about them especially when you can't get them fixed at the terminals because they are incompetent at most of them. (There are some good one's but they are far and few in-between.)
They are a "forced dispatch" company no matter what they say. The first time I was out I was out for 8 weeks, the second time out was almost 7 weeks. When I demanded that I get home they weren't happy about it. You have to really watch them on detention pay and breakdown pay. Opt-Idle is a real pain in the butt. Apparently, they want you to freeze in the winter and cook in the summer. You sit for days at a time in the truck waiting for a load and then they complain about opt-idle time. They don't have to sit in that truck waiting for a load and suffer. Ask drivers what kind of miles that they are getting now. I realize that it is slow but offering 200-300 miles a load when you are suppose to be national gets a little old. How many drivers were sitting down in Wilmer, Texas a while back. How about out on the east coast.
They are trying to screw me on my DAC report now and I will fight them and post everything I can about them to warn others just what they are really like. Sure, I believe that when the original owner ran the company it was a good company but now? He has turned it into a joke and it shows on how this company has gone, and is going, down hill fast. It would be interesting to see the turn-over rate over the last 2 years.
We have friends who are still driving for Crete and they are so upset about how things are being done and people that they know that have been terminated that they are seriously thinking of quitting and retiring. He told me that he can't believe what has happened to the company in the 17 yrs that he has been with them.
I'll leave you with these thoughts and hope that you do check it out before you get tied up with them. If you are presently with them, watch you butt. Times are tuff and they will terminate you in a heart beat.

hey rabbit sorry to hear that....can you give us some info? What are they trying to do on your dac? The more info you can give us the better! thanks and good luck to you!
-
I don't want to open up my DAC report right now until I have more information on what my options are and which way I want to take it. I was a faithful driver and didn't talk down the company, but now? I have really opened up my eyes and ears on this company. The original owner who started the company is really driver minded but the one running it now is, apparently, running it into the ground. I appreciate your offer on checking out my DAC but I will hold off for now on that.
Thanks,
Rabbit Tracks
