What's up guys just looking for some advise on how to correct this. I have been driving for about 14 months still considered a rookie by most people's standards. Anyways my question. I have noticed the trailer is always crooked just a couple of degrees typically on my driver's side. Is this just an illusion as I'm seeing closer on my driver's side bc when I pull up to correct myself and go a little the other way to make it perfectly straight I do the same crooked ### back I did the first time. Line or no line on the dock don't matter. Never had any receivers or shippers say anything about it or to move and straighten it. Also noticed a lot of other drivers do the same or more crooked to the dock. I'm just always trying to improve my driving or docking doesn't help that I'm driving for a mega carrier with a name we do not say lol. So I'm naturally under more scrutiny than most.

Try to park it crooked and you should be fine.
It's all a perspective thing.homeskillet, 88228822, 86scotty and 5 others Thank this. -
Lol thanks

Try setting ypur mirrors out a little more, particularly the passanger side. Most guys have them set un tpo much, and it gives a skewed sense of perspective.
Once in the dock crooked, adjust the mirrors so you can see thr same from inside the truck.86scotty, Trucker Kev Paid Tourist, rabbiporkchop and 3 others Thank this. -
Thank you I haven't thought of that. I will give it a shot.

Could also be the trailer dog tracks. I’ve see some where the pins that lock the tandems are sloppy, going forward they may line up right, going backwards they allow the tandems to head off in a slightly different direction. Not common though.

If that was the case then of the hundreds of trailers I've had they'd all be busted lol. No I've had a couple where they were off hella but always dropped and hooked to another.

It depends on what mirror you're using to line up the trailer. If I use the driver side I'm always off a few degrees. If I line up with the passenger side I nail it.
If it's a few degrees off it doesn't matter. If they can safely unload the #### thing just go about your business. You're not being paid for perfection. Just don't hit anyone or anything, arrive on time, be nice and drive.tscottme, x1Heavy and NavigatorWife Thank this. -

Might be using the mirrors too much. I'd open the door and look to see if I was square. Really no biggie, I figured, if they could get the plate in, good enough.
truckdriver31 Thanks this.
