I haven't had to sit at a TS over the weekend in years. But when I did I would go sight seeing, and in the evening I head to the bar. There's lots to do if you know how to do it. The next time you have to sit, ask the locals what there is to see. Most of them will give you good info. I have bobtailed, taken taxis, and rented cars. Yes this will cost money, but you get to do things you normally can't do. Drivers have to learn how to have fun on the road, just to keep the job interesting. Back in the day we used to have parties in the back row. That was always a good time.

I just moved from Denver to midwest... it was just hard to get back to denver, seemed there wasn't too many loads going there (at least with schneider). One reason was miles, another the new company is based in midwest and they don't go to denver... You should have a lot more luck east of denver, try to get in with a smaller company.
Good luck. -

Lots of stuff around there, just don't go down town at night. There are places in Chicago I would say that about, too. The thing is, short miles, which come from sitting too much, mean little money to do anything with.
I get home to sit, which is some consolation. Peddle runs tend to be that way. -
Good idea on renting the car and sightseeing... lots to see in chicago. Problem I see, no miles, no $$$ and I'm sure noone wants to go spend money they don't have or have little of for some fun in the city... -
Rick_C Thanks this.
