Yes, it was a hole in the pan. The oil leaked out, we had to call a hook.

For being a million miler, I'm sensing there's a possibility that the lane was ending and the throttle wasn't let up I guess.

I've seen a lot of drivers both in cars & big trucks alike that will continue to hammer down even if their lane is ending in front of them with no regard as to what's fixing to happen I front of them.

    Hopefully this wasn't the case.

I was not at full throttle, and I did get into the left lane but the damage had been done, the truck could not continue. I called the police right after it happened on myself do to the damaged barricades. Hit the first A frame barricade at about 38 mph and the last one out of seven at about 20 mph. The speed limit was 40 mph, it went bad, that's all.

Million miles? 20 years? Grandfathered in? The first at 38 the last at 20? 40mph speed limit on I-40....hmmm construction zone....oh yeah, no warning it was coming up.

Trying to pass a Covenant....just had to be in front I guess...and he/she was swerving all about?

*Lowe's and Home Depot have a good price on 5lb boxes of nails....in case you run out from putting what you have in your own coffin!*

My "BS" meter is completely past the red line!

Now all your posts are in reference to things that happened 6 months (or there a bouts) ago!

Who do you think you're telling these stories to...a bunch of dumb truck drivers?:biggrin_25521:

Being a million miler, you screwed up. You either get over or you stop. Lanes close, there are warning signs telling you to merge. You put your signal on and if they are butt heads you stop, plain and simple.

What if a backhoe was sitting there? Would you hit that too? Passing the Covenant on the right?

Sounds like you were aggravated with the driver to a point you weren't paying attention to the other stuff. You shot around the right and got caught with your pants down.

You have no one to blame but yourself. Now you are faced with settling a contract that you signed.

I think what rambler is saying...... you said you just got a new oil pan. What did you hit before to get that one?

Another thing is you are responsible for your passengers. That doesn't mean you brake softly. That means you make them wear the net.

What you done was ludicrous! I doubt you'll get any sympathy. 95% of experienced drivers wouldn't of picked CRST. That was a bad decision too.

Good luck on your future endeavors!

For the life of me I can't seem to understand what you are looking for here. There is nothing here to suggest you deserved to keep your job. You made some poor decisions and it resulted in damage to a truck not owned by you. This situation was 100 percent avoidable, and I know CRST preaches the Smith system, which it sounds like you failed miserably in this case.

Some of you, but not all seem to think I am looking for a way out. Not so, I am just trying to get paid what is owed to me. I can take my lumps and move on, its not a big deal to me, This section is about what may or may not be a bad trucking company. Not my bad driving at the time. I been with other trucking companies and never in my life been through so much grief in such a short time at one place. This is my worst experience in trucking ever with CRST.
