Aye...I've been looking at that, $38.95 a month, still doesn't look to bad for solid help in my corner.

I don't get what's the point of companies having a drivers defensive course if they won't give you a chance to take it.You was smart and called the railroad right away,CRST should have took that into consideration.

Sorry, but I dont buy this crap about a newbie having to sign their life away and get screwed for a year or two just to start out in the biz...when I finished CDL school there were several non-mega OTR jobs available for me and I live in Southern Idaho...not exactly the trucking company capitol of the world. I hired on with a company driver only fleet, no contract. 6 weeks training and put in a truck. I have been treated like a human being by this company. I know Its a tough life, but I have not been screwed once, and I know there are many other companies like mine all over the country that need drivers. The problem is that newbies like the OP think they have to go with a mega...I dont get this mentality.

Believe it or not, according to their contract office, until such time as I pay the contractual amount in full I am considered under contract to CRST. Eight months or five grand. I can make payments, but there is no relief until it's all paid.

Now, I was told by another carrier that called me today that they can only hold back my certificate of completion from NADTA for only 30 days. Can anyone verify this?

As for the DDC for what happened, I was fully ready and looking forward to doing that course. It seemed to be a surprise to everyone when it came down that I was to be fired.

Snowlauncher, are you referring to the actual OP or to where I chimed in the other night? I'm looking right mow for a driving position that is local or even just daily delivery. I, like so many others, got pulled in by the sweet talk if the recruiters. I'm not looking for an easy out or simple job. I just want to get back out there and make an honest living doing something I've come to love.

These folks that sign a contract is attending school at that company. Many ppl can not afford schooling so they have no choice but to sign their life away. Its sad companies have to own the drivers for a yr and have them on a very short leash.

    superflow Thanks this.
