I really appreciate all the info. I need to get moving so I am just going to stay on with them for now and see how things go. I did some reading on another thread on here about pulling coils. I think that is their "bread and butter". It looks like I am going to have a lot to learn.

I have been with CRST and Mercer both,Mercer is a much better organized andmuch better run operation. I did ok with CRST but they are so much in love with themselves,Thier main goal is to sell pretty well beat up trucks and rent trailers to the down and out crowd,in my opinion.

I must say this issue you're trying to dismiss as "Not Serious" IS serious when it comes to brake shoe linings. There isn't any allowable basis for cracks in linings, vertical or horzontial, EVER!! My most sincere suggestion to you my friend is to take maintenance seriously or do yourself a favor and sell the truck now. Lack of maintenance at any level will most certainly bite you in the booty. Like the old Fram filter commercial used to say, "You can pay now or pay later".

    MJ1657 Thanks this.

I heard that. My in laws are all loggers in Fl/Ga, rough bunch of fellers with rougher trucks. OOS all the time but they keep on rolling.
The wife is a high class flatbedder like myself of course.
She was a waitress in the town diner, she told me she could change a semi trailer tire in the woods and I was in love. 20 years old at that.

so landstar, an owner operator company, are using elogs now?? why is that?? I live near savannah ga and have been considering leasing with landstar or mercer but in my area everyone else claims landstar would be better. But if they run elogs that's a deal breaker for me.
