When notified about a random, you have a3 hour window. Refusal carries the exact same consequences as being dirty. If he had pissed dirty yesterday, would they allow him to come back at a later time and try again?
Someone may ask, "Six, how can you be so sure they wont give him a second chance?
That was his second chance and he refused. They had to file the refusal. Had to. Not by company policy or anything...purely federal. Understand what this means now?
Cornbread language time: If he wants to piss in a cup for CRST now, the feds will require him to complete a SAP. He will need a SAP to go to a last chancer like Carolina Cargo. For any commercial job that requires a health card, he will need a SAP.
If he had told us about the retake with a visual and his being nervous about being watched, I would have told him to tell the viewer to pat down his pockets and turn his back. They would have went for that. But now, because of the federal rules that they have to play by, they will have to turn him away without a SAP.
Lurkers, wannabes, students and rookies listen carefully: IF YOU WANT TO DRIVE A CMV OR ARE DRIVING A CMV, UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD YOU EVER REFUSE A DRUG SCREEN IF YOU ARE CLEAN. You put yourself into a big world of hurt. Now, if youre dirty, it doesn't matter if you take the test or refuse. I would take the test even if dirty because refusal is instant hanging.
"What's the point of all of this, Six? Beating on the guy?"
Nooo. Time. There's no point in begging, hanging around human resource, petitions to anyone in the CRST organization. You need to go to a SAP program. Begging, writing letters and sending emails to anyone in a trucking office is now a waste of time and resources.
"Six, dont you think that he can find a job at some renegade outfit...?"
I dont know. He would still need a med card at any level3 roadside inspection. That would sink ANY renegade company I know of.UsualSuspect and Broke Down 69 Thank this. -

He has the diploma from cdl school. What if he just uses that and doesn't mention CRST. "I just graduated from cdl school; here's my diploma; I need a job."
I'm grasping at straws; a conumdrum!TripleSix Thanks this. -
If i went and paid for it myself, and pissed dirty, I would expect the same thing. Its not the companies, its federal. Every tine you take the screen, they have ALL your info, right? DL number, SS number...etc. They gave to have it before they can do drug screen. Any clinic that does DOT physicals and drug screen. Doesnt matter if you are independent. Same rules. Take CRST out of the equation...doesnt change a thing.
When in my first post, i said that he hung himself, i wasnt kidding.Rusty Trawler Thanks this. -
I don't have the diploma, crst put me through school but since I'm not hired.. idk.
