trainers change as often as the drivers do. you only need 6 months experience to become a trainer. that's it no special training or nothing.

Hanger 18 it seems that they treated you well. I had to find my own way to training along with to and from the terminal during home time. As far as co-drivers, I had a dispatcher that said, "Your not going to play musical co-drivers on me!" I said, "No! I am going to play musical dispatchers on you." All companies have some sort of BS you have to deal with or figure out how to get around. You just need to find out which flavor of BS your to dine on. I had a blast at CRST as I did at every carrier I worked for. Sure beats wearing a suit and sitting behind a desk with a computer.

JW79 Don't let them stick you with an o/o trainer they will use you like a mule and not teach you anything. Get a company driver trainer with 3 or more years experience. Casey from Salt Lake is a great one. Most trainers have not been driving more than a year. They are an example of the blind leading the visually impaired.

First...CRST pays more than 11 cents. Second...you can run into that type situation at any company.

My training experience with CRST was great, for the most part. I will be making a post about it in the DAC section.

If you are thinking about going with this company heed my warning and dont.. They were so dishonest about home time and pay increases for my husband. They would keep him out for 6 to 8 weeks and not let him come home when he ask for it. They were suppose to give him pay increases and he never received but 1. They would run him and his partner like crazy for a few days then make them sit whole weekends so they would not get alot of miles. He was lucky to bring home 300 a week and that was a good week. The dispatchers were so rude to him, he complained against them more than once and was never taken serious. He finally had enough and decided to drive his truck from the PA terminal the Charlotte terminal and turn in the keys. He informed the dispatcher he was quitting and the truck was secure at the terminal. He turned the keys into the lot attendant and left. Well, he recieved another job and I drove him down to Atlanta for orientation. Well, the next morning he called and said the company told him they could not hire him because he had a bad DAC report?? My husband is a new trucker and had no idea what that was.. Well we found out quickly... CRST had put on his report that he had unauthorized use of company funds?? What the heck did that mean?? Well after researching CRST reported they terminated him for using fuel and company vechicle without authorization. CRST then turned around and knocked his pay down to 19 cpm and kept his final 2 checks for fuel charges. OK! so if he told you he quit and you kept his pay for fuel why do you want to hurt his future as a trucker and do such a horrid thing.. This company will reap what they are sow ,they have done so many truckers wrong... God will not tolerate his children being treated badly.. God is wonderful to his children that are faithful.. My husband has gotten a job with a wonderful company who informed him they know about CRST and the way they do business. They do not take heed to the reports they turn in on the DAC report. My husband is a wonderful and hard working person and his work record spoke for itself.. CRST you need to look at your company and how you do business before you end up folding :biggrin_25510:

Luck he was not arrested. He should have quit in Carlisle and left the truck there.
