If you go in with an open mind and a willingness to learn, you should do just fine. You will only be with a trainer for 4 weeks. Anyone can deal with someone for that length of time. What I have found over the years is that things usually work out the way you want them to. If you go in with a positive attitude then you will probably have a good experience. If you start with a bad attitude then things are not likely to get much better. Your attitude is everything. If you are having doubts about your decision, then see if you can find some drivers who are currently with CRST and ask them what they think of the company. Most will be open and upfront with you.
Keep in mind that you can probably find something wrong with any company around. You just need to find a carrier that will best suit your needs. You will hear people say negative statements about most any company that you can mention. Some may be valid, others may not.
CRST is very bad

You will go out with a trainer for 28 days, they recently started paying trainees right from the start at .22/mi , it used to be a flat $350 a week. After 3 months you will get a small raise to .23/mi, then at 6 months you will bump to .30 with another raise at 1 year to I believe .34/mi.
If you show your dispatcher you can pick up and deliver on time then you will get the miles. We currently average about 5500 miles a week, we topped out at 7500 one week and I can't ever remember getting less than 4000 a week. The people who complain about sitting are the one's that are usually late. Trust me, if you run hard they will find you the miles. -
22 cents/mile in 2011, and they have the gall to call it a "GOLD RUSH"? If you still have a choice, stay far, far away from CRST. I started my (brief) career with them 15 years ago and nothing has changed. 22 cents/mile was low pay in 1996, and that's what they started me at back then. Please heed my advice.

Regardless of your starting wage during training, once you gain some experience your pay will go up.

I read my husband's lease agreement and told him not to sign it. He insisted, so I insist we stay.
He gets offers all the time and I ask him why he wants to jump.
When he gives me a good reason and learns how to read a contract, I might support him.
He chose this company, over my objections. We make it work until he convinces me he's done his homework.
My father was leased to two great companies. I know what trucking should look like.
While I disagreed with the contract, CRST-Malone has not cheated us.
Best Wishes. -
What is it that you don't like about CRST Malone and how long have you been with them? -
I worked for CRST..What an experience...wow!! I am so blessed that i went to Werner and you Werner haters can stick it..I train newcomers as a company driver and must admit , i am pretty #### good at it..i had some real interesting people test me but got through it without temper or violence, lolo.....But CRST SUCKS!!!!

I may hate werner but I have my reasons and my husband still works for the stupid company. I ride with him just so he doesn't have to train which is actually pushed by dispatch. You may "love" being a trainer but that's only because you can't find anyone who can put up with you to stay with you as a co driver. All werner trainers are is a bad verison of teaming.
