My time, im a male as taken by name, okay enuff sillys, anyway, this a good starter company, when i was there in 90-91 this what i did , went thru otr okay, got a mean black asset trainer with a chromed out cabover, my job was drive and night and day, he take my log book and use it for his time as driving, what did i know i was just starting out, didnt know anybetter but i do know, so like i said i was doing the driving, paperwork at shipper -rec ect, basicly he was just using me too get his miles if i back up wroung a 1/4 inch off the dock line he yell at me, i overcame this by laughing at him, cause he looked like that baboon in the zoo with those white faces and rest is black i thought he looked funny when yelling, so the more he yelled the harder i laughedso that totaly peod him off and went back in sleeper and shot up some more, o ya thats just great i yell back shoot up somemore , like thats really gonna help, the pay was .10 a mile , my split, still that what they pay today, while at the dock, my job was too sweep out the truck and polish the chrome, i told him too stick it, he gets on phone calls dispacth , they told him same thing, got too nashville , he comes out of sleeper pulled air says my turn too drive right going down the street, did a few bunny hops comes too a stop , ya thats when i hit the roof, i yelled at him get back into sleeper , you dont come out here and pull my air brakes going down the street, i just yelled i quit , got my duffel and walked over to the pilot there and hicthed back too Iowa , with other truckers, most told me they would kicked his asset the third day out , i gave him 4 weeks, then i had it with him, went back too yard explain very calmy what hes doing too drivers, they put me up with anthor trainer , now this was like a night and day, this guy took his time with me, gets out of truck and shows me things with his arm movements , i learn alot from him and we became great freinds, what i thought was bs , was true he got blowed away in the war, and had a wooden leg on the right side, i just said ya right, took my hand let me knock on it , yup its wood,he walked soo good with it,but yes crst is a good starter company, its a teaming company, its rates about as good as the rest out there, there all have the plus and negs on any company, most times you will hear about crst is true , never sign for anything without making a copy, i lernt that the hard way with em , if they wont let you make copys walk, there other companys too work for plenty out there,
Everett.

Star Transport is an awesome and good outfit. They will go the distance with you. I have worked for them before and Mike Saylors over there is a true gent.

I applied with CRST too, and was offered a pre-hire. The only thing I didn't like was, what they called, a 20/10 schedule. There were three drivers assigned to a truck. You and a co-driver did 20 days out, then you got 10 days off while they other two took over. I'd rather be solo or teamed with somebody I know and trust. I'm not leaving my stuff on a truck for strangers to be able to use it. And I'm not going to unload a truck every 20 days. Makes no sense to me....

20/10 is an option, not a requirement. However, I do understand your point. My son is going through their school now. Let see if my decision to go with Central instead was a good one or not.
Honestly, I am used to being "alone", so I think I'd prefer the solo gig.Everett and CarolinaCatJack Thank this. -
It's an option? Dang recruiters..... They'll say anything. I was told it was a policy. Seems to me like that's something that would scare some folks off. Oh well.... No worries. I'm leaving for Des Moines in the morning. Gonna start with TMC and be a skateboard pilot!!
Spacecoast Thanks this.
