I prefer calling the agents getting my loads from them or off the load board. I have the freedom to run the loads I want, in the lanes I want and not have a dispatcher or a load planner dictate to me where I will run and what I will run.

Rates have jumped about 15% in the last few weeks. Pulled loads last week paying the truck $2.78 and $2.54 to the truck. There are loads coming out of Ohio right now paying the truck $2.95. The load im picking up tomorrow going to Iowa will pay the truck $ 1.98. Like 32's wife has stated, if you do your homework and make contacts and call the agents, you can find good paying freight in the system. I have only been here a few weeks, but im making durn good money, and learning the system, my FM says I really hit the ground running, but thats all due to my research and due dilligence before coming over here.

My last two checks to the house have been $1432 and this week will $ 1624. Those loads I showed are just a couple loads for the week. Granted unlike some of these other schmucks out here I will put a minimum of 25% aside for taxes.

First and foremost they are agents contracted to CRST malone and try to get malone trucks to cover there freight, but if they can't get malone trucks to cover there freight then they will broker the loads out to other carriers.

Was this your own truck or was it a leased truck from them?
