I have had someone steal posts and panels off my side kit on two different occasions. It is a shame that some people are not disciplined enough to work and pay for their own things. Posts cost about $44/each. Wood panels cost about the same. If you have the lightweight kit then those panels about about double the cost of wood or plywood. At least that was about what I paid the last time I had to buy either.
You can't blame CRST Malone or any company for what their drivers do.
CRST Malone (Flatbed Division) SUCKS!

I did not think that it would happen so I did not look at his truck number. We even talked awhile about CRST and how he was doing. Go figure!
I am getting used to the kit...set up ect. Sometimes the tarp just does not want to co-operate and is a pain...lol. But it is much quicker especially when you are just hauling coils.
I had one load that was 10 shotgun coils set up in three different racks.
I actually ran out of j hooks to do all of the securements that Maverick requires. But I had it safe and secure...just took some time to figure out! -
I would never blame Malone for what one of their operators does. My good friend is Leased on to them and he is a great guy!
Since he was leasing the trailer from Malone, he should have made arrangements with them to get the posts...go figure! -
I am thinking of lease sighing with malone any help or advise for my self andmy wife would be so helpfull in making this decission
thank u so much\ -

Well im going to be new to the owner operator field and i plan on purchasing my truck cash at first so i can make money and grow my business. I've been trucking for 6yrs and know how companies can be sometimes about hanging it on the driver when there at fault but from what i have gathered on this website and other owner ops at crst malone is that its a worker company and you have to play nice and stay in the freight lanes which are ga,al,tn,il,in,ky basically anything that sounds too good must be. Im going to see about leasing to crst malone cause it dont sound bad and if i can average 1.67/mi to the truck then i will be doing great. Someone shed some light so i dont make a bad decision on doing this also ALL THE GOOD AND BAD KEEP IT COMING. IM DOING EXTENSIVE reasearch on these guys and others? Anybody care to help me out on great owner operator companies and help me avoid a loss? I live in Chattanooga,TN so i think crst malone will be great and after i get my own trailer and then maybe 2-3 more trucks and trailers i will grow a great business as i want to pull a mixture of frieght. I will lease to crst then buy flatbed then buy newer truck, drive it put driver in old truck pay him .32 a mile and buy a refer so my fright base is more diverse. PLEASE HELP ME ANY BAD OR GOOD ADVICE IS GREATLY APPRECIATED. Thank you all for your support.

Last week I left out Monday morning and was home by noon on Friday. I pulled four loads, all the loads payed the truck $2.26 or better and after all expenses my check to the house this week will be $2300. You can make good money here and set your own schedule. I could make at least $500 more a week, but choose to be home on the weekends. Don,t regret this desion one bit.minitrkmatt423 said: ↑Well im going to be new to the owner operator field and i plan on purchasing my truck cash at first so i can make money and grow my business. I don't live in my truck, I get home every weekend, pull the loads and run the lanes I choose. And average $2000 a week to the house. If this is slummin.....count me in.PANDORATRANSPORT said: ↑Appears to me that YRC might not be the only guilty party in the 'greed' category? I guess that it depends upon your perspective?
Welcome to the other side of trucking. The numbers you advise regarding hubby's jobs since YRC doesn't surprise me. Actually, it won't surprise most of us that have been involved with and/or have had a working knowledge of the world of Bottom Feeder Trucking. A world, Ma'am, that you were luckily spared from for hubby's glory years at YRC. Now you are getting a taste of the other 99% and it ain't good. Wait till that first big dental/medical bill comes in and next to nothing (or nothing at all if you are lease purchase/owner op for CRST) is taken care of by insurance.
Might I infer that CRST Malone (used) to be respected as a decent company for flatbed owner ops? Might I also suggest that many these "opinions" regarding life with CRST (Malone) comes from folks who live on the truck, are taking $20.00 advances ($4.00 wire fee) to buy cigarettes and bologna, yet will tell you that they are doing OK? Huh? A very far cry from YRC life.
It's slumdog trucking. Plain and simple.
A very far cry from $100,000 annual and bennies out the wazoo.
I wish you the very best.

Major Tom,
I spent 5 years at Malone, And all but my last year, I averaged about $180,000...And the last year I coasted and spent a lot of time with my aging family... I never had to eat Balona...Or Never did i take cash advances... If you did.. that tells me that either you was 1 of those guys that just could not get past the truck stop drivers lounges or you are a terrible business person...
Also Major Tom, there are a lot of people today that cannot purchase a truck and a trailer because of credit ratings...
I Have been very lucky, every truck that i have sit my ### in, I OWNED and still do...
At Crst Malone, if you are not afraid of hard work and LEARN the System, Anyone can make a good living with them and If you Fail, the only one that can be blamed is You ! ! ! !
