I have to disagree. Crst Malone doesn't suck. I struggled at first also, but follow my blog and you'll see that I am now doing much better. I'm even making money with Crst malone. Check it out! It is a little difficult to understand your post. But, I gather your husband had a problem with one of CRST Malone's lease trucks? Whether you lease a truck or buy outright, you should have money put aside to take care of unexpected breakdowns or emergencies. You should never enter into any business without understanding the risks and having money set aside. If you buy or lease a truck it is up to you as the buyer to check it out before signing your name. I am sorry to hear that your husband has had a difficult time with the truck. I don't know that it is CRST Malone's fault. From my own experience with them as an owner operator they always did what they said with me. Perhaps whatever happened to your husband's truck was not covered in the warranty. You need to be more specific on what happened to the truck. It is much easier to read a post when you use punctuation and spell out words.

Landstar's freight comes from brokers. Some JB Hunt CH Robinson and on and on. I leased to them for 3 years. An agent will screw you blind if he can. some of the agents just flat out lie, and agent with the letters LJ (Little John) will post high dollar freight and when you call all he or she has left is low pay freight and they expect you to tarp it for free.

Buying truck and going to Malone in 3-4 weeks. I would like to find out more about from Malone from you as I have been reading your threads and like what I see. I would like to ask you some things and get some advise if you don't mind. My email is @mail.com for personal contact. My honey and I both work from home now and I will be going out to drive. I could use all the help that I can get. Thanks, Ray.

Back when I leased to Landstar I only had a problem with one agent. Most are honest. I have noticed lately that they do seem to have a number who are currently getting their freight from other brokers or 3rd party logistics companies. Many do have direct freight. You can usually tell due to the rate. If the rate is cheap then it is likely double brokered and not direct freight. I doubt that there is a single carrier in this nation who doesn't haul some brokered freight.

I am not sure to whom you are referring, but your email address in not compete. You can also pm directly to another poster from the forum. Have you already been approved by Malone?

I've been leased on as an owner/op for 5 months and I make good money with Malone. I'm not one of the "select few", I book loads by checking the board and calling agents. I stay in my lanes, run hard 5 days and go home every friday. My settlements for the last 2 weeks were over 2 grand each for 5 days work. I don't make that much every week and this is not clear profit (deadhead fuel, tolls etc.) but I'm still doing pretty well. A lot of the issues here come from lease purchase drivers who have much higher expenses so the bad weeks can be pretty rough I imagine. I bought an old Century for 7,000.00 put another 1000.00 in it, passed the DOT inspection and hit the road. I've spent money on repairs but nowhere near .16/mile. i don't have any major complaints about the company. They offer me loads, put plates on the truck, file my fuel taxes, insure me, and rent me a trailer. That's what they promised and they do it. I work hard, try to maximize my profits, and still have a life at home. I could be doing a lot worse right now.
