The chicago area is a great spot to live if leased on with Malone. I know a guy that lives up there, that is home almost every night and makes good money.

Yes what ever fuel money you don't use rolls over on your card, If you fuel up at T/A or Petro you get an almost instant added fuel discount put back on your fuel card. This can add up quick and build at least $100 extra dollars on your fuel card a week. They will usually give you just enough fuel on your card to do the alloted trip, if you need more they will put it on there. If you watch your speed and routing you can usually have anywhere from 1/8 to a 1/4 of a tank left over. At least I always do.

right just what i figured! with my calculations the 100% surcharged is for 4.5 mpg give or take a few and if a truck gets 6 you should never have to come out of pocket!!! i really looking forward to to leasing onto them! college graduate trying to make some real money ya know!!! lol i dont understand why ppl arent happy with malone, i guess they dont know how to run a business!!! can i get a copy of contracts, deductions and such from the recruiter??

I am about ready to go ahead and schedule orientation I think I have my i's dotted and t's crossed. I have gone as far as to write up a business plan including expense report and profit/lose statement. I calculated my break-even at 1.49 per mile which includes 700 a week for take home pay and includes avg. Fuel price at 3.79 per gal. Not including any fuel discount or fsc. I figured fsc and fuel discount would be calculated my per load expense report and weekly profit/loss statement.
I enjoy driving a truck and I have ran successful businesses in the past.
I am keep getting cold feet when and feet! How complicated are the load boards? How long does it take to build a good reputation with the agents? Is little rock, AR in a good freight lane with Malone(I have family in Chicago and Birmingham which could be considered home also)? These are most of the second thought questions I keep running into? Is this normal or am I over thinking the whole thing.

Any advances you receive for fuel or anything else is really an advance on your pay or settlement. It is your money. They are just paying you part of your money in advance of your actually earning it. Any advance you receive will be deducted from your settlement or pay. It would be good if you could let your money build and not take the advances. When you get advances it may seem as though you don't make as much as you are making. You can get any money advanced off your card, but it would be much better to use that money for fuel. In order to receive any fuel discounts you will need to use their fuel card. You cannot put money on your fuel card. CRST Malone is the only one who can put money on your fuel card. They usually pay you on your Comdata card or direct deposit. I would have everything put on your card and then transfer what you need to your personal account.
