Yes, they hire O/Os who don't lease trucks through them. I'm working for a guy who leases his two trucks on with CRST Malone, and we pull trailers from an agent who leases some 20 or trucks on with CRST Malone.

Well I got the call from the freightliner dealer in Greensboro, NC late today telling me that my truck is finally ready after 12 days. It has a "new" remanufactured transmission, a new wiring harness, all new o rings on all the injectors, and a new cab air bag. None of this cost me a dime. Some say .12 cpm into a maintenance account is to high, but I beg to differ. CRST's trucks may be gawd awful ugly gold, but the bumper to bumper warranty can't be beat.
I drove a loaner truck for 10 days while mine was in the shop, so I was able to still make some money, and be productive. -
A brand new truck has a back to back warranty. Thats why I buy Extended Hood Petes, keep em 450,000 and sell them.
Rollover the Original and old-school Thank this. -
That is great that it didn't cost you any money out of your pocket to get your truck repaired. It was also good that you had a truck to use where you can make money rather than sitting in a motel twiddling your thumbs while your truck was being repaired. -
1catfish Thanks this.

I got out of trucking 10 years ago and took a job 2000 miles away from my home in Alabama. The job I have pays about 90k a year but I am needing to move home to take care of my wifes and my parents as they are getting older. I am looking in to getting back into driving and would perfer to own my own truck. I realize at Malone you have to have 6 months minimum experience to sign on and I am not sure if I could use any of my old experience as applicable toward the qualifications. I have pulled hoppers, reefers, doubles, flatbeds, and walking floors. I have read all the post in this forum concerning CRST/MALONE and I always try to weed out the obvious BS and what is the truth. Comes from raising 3 daughters I guess lol. Anyway I'm just looking for the best advice possible for signing on to this company. I will however buy my own USED truck and have a O&M budjet to start out with for running. Can you have your own authority and run for malone? SEMPER FI!!!!! ALL YOU JARHEADS! CURRENT AND FORMER.

Oh btw the ideal job would be to run all week and be home weekends and make a good check, I am a runner no doubt!
