I'm curious about this...why does Malone's website say the average pay last year for their owner ops was $148k? Shouldn't this be higher considering last year the average pay was $1.75 per mile and $2.00 per mile this year?

It should be alot higher as far as gross pay. I will gross between $234/237K this year.

Have you all seen any effects of Malone's safety rating like more DOT inspections or fewer brokers using you? Everything else that I've read sounds good, except for the safety issue. Won't shippers be wary of using Malone if their safety rating is poor?

I have been here just shy of a year, and I haven't noticed any major issues with our safety rating. We just recently went through a DOT audit and passed with a satisfactory rating (the best you can receive). I haven't been pulled into the scales at a higher level, but I also always keep truck clean, over secure my loads, and take pride in my tarp jobs. I believe these little things do make a difference.
