Stevens has nice trucks, but as @Wasted Thyme posted; pay isn't the best.

When you look at reviews, you'll see mostly bad reviews with just about any company. You can't necessarily go by those, as trucking is moreso about what you put into it. It's nothing wrong with signing a contract for CRST, if you have to go there. Regardless of where you go, it's simply about "training and gaining" the first year. Training to drive, gaining experience. Chinatown, ujman and Wasted Thyme Thank this.

Yeah, the best trucking companies in the world have complainers.
Keep your eye on your goal; stay focused.bryan21384 and ujman Thank this.

I will reach out to Chinaman.
I haven't spoken to any other company. CRST responded so quickly. I just went with it.
I will reach out to Swift today.Flat Earth Trucker and Chinatown Thank this.

Tell Swift you want refrigerated trucking; not dry van.
Nothing wrong with dry van trucking, but you can make more money with refrigerated.Six9GS, bryan21384, Wasted Thyme and 1 other person Thank this.

Thank you for all the information.
I checked Jones Brothers out, but one of their requirements is that you live in the hiring area.
I am all the way down in LA, so they are out.
I am looking into a few others that were recommended.
Thank you for the quick replies. As the CRST recruiter is really hounding me. LOL

One more thing... would it make a bug difference (or any at all) if I get my CDL permit myself before I apply to a school or should I just wait and do everything via a school?

You're not an employee of CRST, so no obligation. The recruiter is just doing his job.
Swift probably have you in class Monday if you want to go that soon.
Surprising Jones Bros. didn't hire you; they hired a guy in North Carolina. Guess the policy changed.
Check them all out and go with whichever one you want.ujman Thanks this.

FFE offers paid training. That's the way it should be.
