So, done with orientation and have taken an xtra lease trailer to its purchaser 400 miles from fontana where I actually live which is nice because I am able to see my wife and baby. With all the highways under blizzards down here we are stuck until further notice...This Flying J is jam packed with rigs...Nothing you can do about it though, and im making my 50 bucks a day just sitting here.. lol. I lucked out and found a trainer that lives in my town so we might go team after my 28 days so we don't have to worry about who is gonna take the truck or any of that crap since we are basically neighbors. Other than that I cannot really say much about CRST since we only have done a short distance load. So far they have been helpful advancing my trainer some cash so he can get by during layover, and routing us here so he could see his doctor to get a refill for his meds. I have been talking to a lot of other companies and hearing the same thing really, that loads are slow right now anywhere your at but will pick up the middle of next month. And for anyone complaining about deductions takin out from paychecks you need to stop complaining for real, the deductions are 40 a week which pays for your dot physical, drug screen, and hotel stay while in school. Its like 600 bucks total... wow! I mean CRST is paying for your dang school for crying out loud, get a clue that they are actually helping you out, or why would you be here, o wait you wouldnt be if you had to pay for it yourself. :) Just my outlook on this blessing I am receiving. Later guys I will keep you updated.

hopefully it works out for the best for you. All I can speak of is my unpleasant experiences from years ago. It's quite possible that they have changed. Good luck and be safe on the road.

So by what your saying two weeks you brought home 100 bucks, sometimes 200... lets do the math, .22 cents "student starting pay" times 800 miles = $176.00 I don't see this as being possible as a constant thing. I mean yeah you can expect to sit sometimes but to consistently average 400 miles a week just seems made up to me. We have my first load with crst tomorrow morning going to Iowa, which is 1,769 miles. Just that trip alone is more than what you averaged in two weeks. Are you sure you are telling all of the truth?

The contract I signed was to pay back the schooling... CRS will pay a portion each month, I pay the other - HOWEVER - if I leave their employment, I will have to pay the COMPLETE balance of the schooling... which is entirely fair... Solo pay (per their website) is 0.28 cpm.

Actually CRST pays full tuition reimbursement, unless you quit before 8 months. What you are paying back each month is the physical, drug test and hotel stay if you stayed in a hotel. Now at the end of your eight months you will be responsible for the taxes on the tuition which is around 1,000 bucks.

Congratulations on achieving xour CDL A, Must be nice, now you have something else "under your belt". You should be making big "chippers" $$$, in no time. I have a Class B, but I am "seriously" thinking of "upgrading" to Class A. I have been out of work since 11/2015, and can't even land an interview. So, yeah I will upgrade and get back to work SOON (I hope) But I have a few questions. I was wondering if you have to take any money with you, and if so, what for and how much?? And did you have to get yourself to the training facility? What exacting do they provide for you? I would be most appreciative if you can get back to me.
    Thanx....
