Where are the major, busiest, high volume freight lanes for CRST?

Well with crst the miles come from airfrieght companies like fedex ups and conway frieght so if you can prove your self and show dispatch you wanna make money you'll go far like i did

Utall , of course they get you ready to test at Kirkwood, they use third party testers everyone who they want to pass.....passes.

CRST sent me to school in Opelika, Al. Very good school , good trainers and admin staff. We had to earn our CDL and test through the state. At least I won't be like a Swift driver and have to worry about retesting sometime down the road. CRST as a company has been good to me. The people who bad mouth CRST are just like some of the students I was in school with who complained about everything always whining to their recruiter instead of focusing on training.

Exactly how much CRST time do you have under your belt, Dirk?

I do have to second your earlier post regarding 3rd party testing taking place at Kirkwood Community College, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. I was skeptical at first, as I was tested (as were all others) by IOWA DOT. But that has been a few moons ago. I just got off of the phone with Kirkwood Community College Truck Driving division and I spoke with Wanda. She confirmed that a combination of State personnel and (qualified Kirkwood [3rd party] instructors) administer the CDL driving examinations.

Thanks for the info. However, I must wonder why you think that the bias tilt would be from 3rd party testers? Are you insinuating that these 3rd party testers would favor certain applicants that are slated to work for a particular company in Cedar Rapids? Might be true, but I wonder what your qualifications are to issue such an edict?

Since I speak as a proud graduate of Kirkwood Community College Truck Driving...........I can only imagine that you must be jealous of us Gold Rush drivers that have sheepskinned from Cedar Rapids? Why the hate brother?

Or is yours just another of the uninformed babbles?

    Please, correct me!

My Husband didn't even make 500 the first month of training with his lead driver with CRST... And he did the majority of the driving!!!! Then that lead quit to go with a better company... He was stuck in a hotel for 5 days with no pay as he awaited another lead... Very dissapointing, he was promised a good amount of pay for orientation and training. He DIDN'T get paid for orientation at all!!!! Then we started paying out of pocket for him to be training. I say this because he didn't even make min. wage after it was all said and done. His expenses by far out weighed the income. Once he got started with his Codriver it wasn't any better... The were sent to FL from Iowa to search for a truck. They were sent via rental car. My husband and I had to pay out of pocket 380 dollars for gas and hotel stay! We did get reimbursted but not until the next week.... This whole time he DIDN'T get paid at all for any of his time... yet again ... They take advantage of new drivers! The fill your head with lies and then say you talked to the wrong person and they gave you the wrong info!!!! Even when he did start to get paid his check averaged on mere 180 a week, and he was constantly moving!!! All I can say is we are very blessed that I wasn't a stay at home mother and still had a strong income coming in to compensate what we were losing with CRST. I honestly do not know how other people to it!!!

I also want to note that my husband was not happy, but NEVER bad mouthed CRST! Again, we were new to this whole trucking thing. He would say, "honey, we figured I wouldn't make much money the first year. We are just doing our time to gain experience." It wasn't until after six months he still was continuing having to paid to work for CRST that he had gotten fed up and decided to go to another company! Now we have bill for 4,500 that CRST is trying to charge us for paying 2,500 for his school (he didn't go to their schooling). It is all just pretty much unbelievable!!!

I am only saying that the percentage of people who test and pass with a third party tester is much higher than the ones who have to test through a state tester, this is common knowledge, just look at what was going on at Swift with their 3rd party testers. Also they are testing people who are not residents of the state of Iowa. Were you a state resident or did Kirkwood make you a Iowa resident? By the way I have 3 years with CRST under my belt.
