Now that makes me wonder about CRST
I was going to ask one thing...
I am just waiting on the final phone call to start (well, start after I take a 20hr refresher) and I live in Waldorf, don't know what could be done about me being a newb and all...
(well that is if you felt like staying)
crst/van expedited?

I'm a dude... why? -
jl, I just teamed with a guy from B-more. Yes, I live in Calvert so Waldorf would be much more beneficial to me but I am not sure how it would play out if you need to go out with a trainer for 28 days. I am going to finish my contract more than likely, I just have about 3-4 months left on it. I don't know if I can train you because I have only been there for a few months myself, but I can tell ya one thing......it's not rocket science. My employee # is 321H so u may be able to see if they will let you train with me.....if you go thru cybergal on here, she can pass my email to you or vice versa....just don't post it on here, they don't like that.
Just a note, I held a Class A CDL since 2002, and used it. I am a Volunteer Fireman in Maryland and I drove Fire Apparatus for years plus worked for an O/O for a bit hauling Scrap Steel in a Peterbilt 379EXH with a roll off trailer....they still made me take the three week course in Kentucky when I really just needed a refresher....jash is right, if you have a CDL, they will still do as much as they can to get you in the full course to get the grant money. They said my Volunteer time wasn't good enough even though I documented over 150,000 miles and they claimed they couldn't get in touch with the O/O. It's a game and as long as you play it right and have alot of patience, you'll do well man. They have the shortest contract time in the industry which is why I chose them for the most part. -

They cater to O/O's and three man teams there. I am still a Vounteer in Clinton...I am just on a leave of absence right now to do all this OTR stuff. I had a truck but since I found this other guy to team with, he has his truck and he has an inverter and all that crap in there so I didn't want to rock the boat too much considering I don't eat too much in Truck Stops and he has a microwave. Whats kiling me is the gas driving to Carlisle if I team with someone who doesn't live near me. They won't let you solo until you are there for 6 months, which includes solo in the truck to go home.
Let me know when you are going to finish your refresher and head for orientation....I am going back out tuesday regardless because I am sick of being home already. Since you are only a refresher, you probably won't do the 28 days with a trainer. If that is the case, you can look me up as soon as orientation is overwith. Like I said, get with cybergal or one of the moderators on here and they can give you my email or pass me yours...I don't think I have 50 posts yet so I can't message anyone yet. -
S/S and JL you guys can ride together once JL is finished with the trainer.
Jl it is up to the trainer as to when they will release you though.
I am further south then both of you and was thinking about going back to co-driving.
To make it always be early for pickups and deliveries and let your f/m know your ETA so they can start working on getting your next load and not start after you have gotten to the cons. Less time sitting more time running. It works and helps.........
Good luck to both of you guys......................J -
Yeah, it's been my experience that as long as we stay on target for a delivery, they usually have the next load on the Qualcomm before we get to the first Consignee. I was driving with a dude who ticked the FM off and we sat in Jersey for a few days.....
