No APEX is the division that services mostly refineries when they need to do work. Most of our OTR guys are teams.

What is the raise you mentioned back in November?
Any other company changes of note?
What does the market forecast look like from your POV?
Appreciate your detailed feedback for myself & everyone else curious.

Darn it I thought that my response had posted, apparently not.
Everything is cool at Messer still. I haven’t regretted my move at all.
it’s been a very interesting job. It’s pretty much just me, the truck and a tank location . You’re pretty much just left alone to work on your own. Very little interaction or dependence on anyone else.
For my location, the pay raise went up a dollar to $26 and the mileage went to .66 per. Along with that, I’m getting the shift differential so it’s adding up real nice. ( by my calculations it should be 90 +). I am well aware that we’re going into a slowdown with the overall economy but for now...
I’m coming up on my 1 year anniversary and NO ONE has left voluntarily. One guy was let go for not reporting an incident but that’s it! I think there will always be a demand (especially with the older drivers retiring) for someone willing to do a little extra. For me it’s the best local gig available.
As soon as we get past this funk that we’re in. I see nothing but strong demand for messer drivers and cryogenics overall. We have an opening now.
if anyone’s interested let me knowLilRedRidingHood, speedyk, superpet39 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Got two emails from Messer in one day last week, they're doing remote automated interviews, I called a number, their side asks a recorded question twice, then I say my answer, no time limit.
One of the questions indicated that they are looking for teams. I was clear that teams were not of interest, since then it's been quiet.Mooseontheloose Thanks this. -
Keep your application active, something will pop. Set up a job search alert with one of the websites like Career Builder or Glassdoor. Check out Air Products too. Those guys seem pretty happy. We don’t have AirGas or Praxair in my area but I hear good things about them that they follow industry standard with equipment and salary. Maybe, it’s a limited sample of what I hear but I’m told that KAG and Air Liquide are springboard companies.
I had no interest in teams either (it might be hydrogen or helium or it could be single driver otr)
Good LuckLilRedRidingHood and speedyk Thank this. -
I don't think I even had an app in with them.
I'm happy enough doing other tanker work, so I just told it like it is in the virtual interview.Mooseontheloose Thanks this. -
