I have a this week's permit from NDOT for a steel load I hauled through the state...No mention of amber light permit requirements...
I do know NV allows the carrier to purchase permits on line....That's how I usually get my permits for most states....
AZ is not a bad state to run through....I like running the 40......
But they need to pull their heads out in regards to the permit process....And what's up with checking every rig at the San Simon POE?......You roll through and have to show your POI and IFTA....Uh...They have all of that info in their system...tracked by your MC# on the side of your rig...Redundancy.....redundancy....And drivers waste 5-10 minutes every time they run through there.....
We have a state that gave us Janet Napolitano...Who told us there is no issue at AZ's border...Yet carriers are under more scrutiny than illegal aliens....Something's wrong with this scenario...don't you think? -
sum states allow you to record conversations some states you would be in violation of that persons rights. especially if you didnt have that persons concent. you might want to check az law on this save you some headache later .
-
The meetings were M-F...DPS was at the meetings only on Monday and Tuesday. It was recorded so the other Drivers could watch it the rest of the week...it was no secret...

I think everone is missing the point here, I live in AZ. DPS are giving orders to ROB truckers of as much money as they can get away with, they are the modern day hiway robbers, how they can live with themselves i'll never understand, the only thing I can think of is there brain's must b tweeked like the Nazis killing women and children during ww11, they are not interested in saftey, they are interested in money only, if it ever got on national news what the DPS are doing to the American trucker it would be headlines for months. The new ticket there issuing now is for not having reflectors on the tractor mudflaps, and drivers not doing there homework just pay the ticket, the law states you don't need them while hooked to a trailer, so in conclusion, while trucking in AZ be prepared to be robbed by the modern day theives there dressed up like police officers.

Requirements for Truck Tractors
Manufactured After
July 1, 1997 (§ 393.11)On August 8, 1996, the NHTSA published aincluding the conspicuity treatments
final rule requiring that truck tractors
manufactured on or after
July 1, 1997, be equipped with
red-and-white retroreflective
material similar to that required
on the rear of the trailers they
tow to increase nighttime
conspicuity. Manufacturers may
choose either retroreflective
sheeting or reflex reflectors.
In the case of truck tractors
delivered with a temporary mudflap
arrangement rather than permanent
equipment, the requirement for
retroreflective material near the top of the
mudflap may be satisfied with material
carried by the temporary mudflap brackets
that are transferable to the permanent
mudflap system. Retroreflective material is
also required near the top of the cab in a
pattern similar to that used on trailers.
Currently, § 393.11 requires that
all lamps and reflective devices
on motor vehicles placed in
operation after March 7, 1989,
meet the requirements of
FMVSS No. 108 in effect on the
date of manufacture.
Therefore, truck tractors
manufactured on or after
July 1, 1997, must have reflective
devices of the type and in the
locations specified by FMVSS No. 108,

It would be interesting to see the video of these meetings.

That would be awesome. I would like to see if this is being blown out of proportion or if it was a scare them straight presentation

about the reflectors on the mud flaps, you must be one of the robbers, you left out the part about (only when not connected to a trailer)
-
Didn't see that part, show it to me.
