The "purpose" of CSA is to be pro-active in preventing truck crashes, that while Safestat helped drop truck crash ratios it's leveled off, and there's nothing that bugs a utopian bureaucrat more than not being seen as watching out for the at risk general public.

The problem with their purpose, decreasing truck/car accidents, is that it fails when exposed to simple math.

Two studies, by the Oregon AAA and the Michigan Transportation Institute (name?) have shown, conclusively, that around 70% of car/truck crashes are 100% the fault of the .........car. This was determined by simply studying the incident reports of those crashes.

So, exactly how do you decrease car/truck accidents 40-50% while targeting the group responsible for only 25-30% of said incidents? Again, the math simply doesn't work.

As for being professional and not worrying about it, the only mark I have in three years is a log book not current warning ticket, from a nice blonde lady in Illinois, who decided my log book just didn't "look right". Not it wasn't right, it didn't LOOK right. And warnings now carry the same weight as a ticket, only there's no established appeal process so you're stuck with it.

It's going to get ugly, that you can bank on.

To the original post, maybe you and everybody else that attended that briefing should go up the chain of command at the DOT and ask "is this really the way you want YOUR people to educate/inform us and others" and report the things he said and how he acted. b
Not that you think anything would come of it, but I would report him and question the DOT about the professionalism of their people.

I foresee a lot of future legal litigation's down the road, whether it be drivers or companies.

By your own admission the equipment was faulty or there would have been nothing for the shop to fix. Your inability to find the deficiency on your own does not change that fact.

First why not actually rely on the source of the program instead of your "insider" from a cult?

I mean listening to deepthroats second cousin is probably as accurate as watching Smokey and the Bandit as a training film.

Second despite your hyperbole CSA2010 changed not one law pertaining to the safe operation of a commercial vehicle. Nope not one. It did change the way violators of those existing laws are tracked and compared, but did not attempt in any way to "increase revenue".

Third sensationalist persons such as your self are the base audience for Ricky Lake and the National Enquirer. Instead of purporting yourself to be an expert attempt to learn how you will be required to follow all laws pertaining to the operation of a commercial vehicle.

Tazz, do you really believe what the csa site says? I know that the site says that they aren't scoring the drivers, but could you please explain how out of 7 BASICS they talk about 6 are scored against the driver?
