Are Bad things going to happen to good Professional Truck Drivers? Sure, but I guarantee that in a few years the new system will weed out the bad carriers and drivers. If the DOT and FMCSA have hundreds of thousands of Bad Apples to pick, do you really believe they are going to waste their time going against the Good?

In the future, after many of the bad drivers have been weeded out, who is left for the government to pick on and further over regulate? The good guys! The government will always need more money from fines, taxes, etc.

They worst thing is that once they start writing the citation, they cant tear it up.

Had a safety inspection at a temp. rest area back in 1989. The officer went under the rig, did a walk-around and started writing me up for the new dual markers/reflectors of the side of the deck. Told her to check with her supervisor cuase those were legal. She came back, went under rig again and all of a sudden my lights are OK, but now I have an oil seep, not leak, to fix. Frakking CSA2010 is going to make driving hell on wheels.

You can either bi*ch and moan or you can go along. It's going to happen no matter what. Maybe by chance some of these fast paced drivers will slow down and do some real inspections on the equipment so they know what the truck is all about. Maybe they'll do their job. I don't agree with it but why get all worked up about it? And like I said maybe there's a slim chance the bad drivers will be weeded out and the companies will be forced to pay for good drivers.

Sooner or later it will catch up to them. The companies will find out it will cost them too much money not to follow a good program. You've been around long enough to know the good companies and how they operate. Mine learned years ago to pay a good driver more so he or she will take the extra care so they don't end up in court. We have deep pockets so you know there's people out there that just want to run into us thinking they'll make a million from a suit. We've been combating this type of scam for years so I believe more and more companies will treat there drivers the way the should. The bad drivers will be forced out. If the company doesn't train them right then it's too bad and they'll be forced to find another career. The way it's looking now the companies are going to be held acountable just as much as a driver from what I've seen. I also believe it's not as bad as people make it sound. You'll just have to wait and see.

It might work out in the drivers favor. Hopefully it will put a premium back on good drivers.

I would not be surprised to see the pay not change or even drop.

I foresee them taking the stand it cost so much more to find the qualified driver and the cost to maintain the records now are greater and we all have to make sacrifices.
