Laws and regs are made for money. How fast were the cars running through there, 75? 80+? That's how fast they run everywhere else and the cops do nothing. Ask mikemd about that. He's as much as said flat out that they don't care as long as they can wring money out of trucks instead.

I sit in the center lane because the cars coming off the ramps will drive straight under my trailer. They will jump on at 35mph right in front of me and one of these times they will cut it too close and I won't be able to stop or dodge. I've had them come up the ramp when I'm surrounded by traffic and I have nowhere to go. They sit next to me pacing me like I'm supposed to run over the cars on the other side to make room for them. Then they run out of lane and slam on their brakes. Then they get on behind me, race up on the left, cut in front of me, and slam on their brakes on purpose to show me how offended they are by my mere presence on "their" road. I'm about tired of it.

Most comments regarding 4 wheelers are related to cars.

Just explain to me what law is being broken by a truck running in the center lane. Otherwise, I see no law being broken.

Differant states differant laws. In Cali on a 3 lane road big trucks can not run the center lane except while passing (if you take too long you will be cited) or in areas where some cities allow by posting to get the big trucks out of the merging traffic.

In California, I run the center lane on the 3 lane highway as well. I have seen nothing to restrict it. I have been passed by the bears and nothing happened.

If there are more than 3 lanes I restrict to the right two.

I'm a bit hell bent about this so called "new law". So I e-mailed the CSA with the following statement and question regarding something that happened to me last year.

"I have a concern about truthfulness of officer's. A year ago I was given a warning for "driving on the improved shoulder" by a Texas DOT that could barely speak english. My truck never left the line's and noticed he was passing me when he looked up in my mirror seeing that I looked to young to be driving and used the warning as an excuse to pull me over when it was really discrimination. What will happen in these case's of false accusations made againest us law abiding, hard working, honest people and our record when a trooper does not want to be truthful and we have no proof there of to keep a satisfactory safety rating?"

I am waiting on a reply to see what kind of BS answer I will get back.

This is highly common. Happens with every driver at least twice if not more a day. It's one of those case's of , run over or get run over. I'm not going to be a statistic of someone else's stupidity because they lack the brain power to comprehend that truck will crush their ### like a boot on a roach. If they fail to read the triangle sign that say's yeild on the ramp's then that put's them at fault anyway. People like this are just like children with poor parenting. They keep on and keep on to see if your going to be a push over and give them what they want. I don't give in. Ever. If they get pissed off, oh well. I just smile and wave as they go on by which piss' them off even more and if they want to stop and handle it up then I have no problem with that either.

CVC 22348c restricts 3 axle or more trucks and passenger veh towing to lane 3 on a 3 lane highway except when passing. Allows two right lanes on 4 or more lanes unless otherwise posted.

Been a year since I was out there, but that is how I have ran when I was there. No CHP ever looked twice at me.

I'm fighting the citation, received it in June 2009 I-80 W in Auburn, Ca. Many drivers run the lane, I was cited. Guess it was just a bad day to be driving.

So I am aware of CSA 2010 mainly from what has been posted and linked on this site, seems like it will reduce the number of people allowed to drive trucks.

Maybe someone has already mentioned this but is this part of a broader plan to move freight from road to rail? Don't know if this has been the governments intention before or if it is even a plan they had at all, but know in Europe it has been in the pipeline for a while. Also when someone like Warren Buffet buys a big train concern you know he is gonna make that puppy pay.

Does anyone have any knowledge of this?
