They have been coming up for more than just a couple of weeks. There have been very little of them caught.

Driver profiles will not be available to the public, nor will they be available to insurance companies. And, they'll only be available to carriers if the drivers permit it (FOIA). So, a driver goes to a carrier, wants a job there, but will not allow the carrier to have access to his/her profile. What happens then? I think I know but I could certainly be wrong!

Sure the carrier wont have access w/o your permission, but just like.your MVR, you sign a release of information or you wont be considered for the job. It may as well be public. What difference does it make, after all, you "earned" your record on public roads, shouldnt the public be able to see our record?
Unless, of course, you have something to hide?
Since we are losing rights anyway, why do we need the right of privacy anyway??? Screw it, let 'em take away all our rights!

The anti-trucking crowd will get access to the data statistics, they don't care squat about you the single driver. They want to see how many driver are breaking which rules, and how many companies are running junk equipment. The anti-trucking crowd will use the data in their court case about HOS.

I guess you're referring to the Teamsters because they are the ones that keep HOS in court .

No, i wasn't talking just about the teamsters, but they are a group causing some problems. What is the teamsters plan for HOS, they complain about HOS, but I have never seen there plan to solve the problem.

no, actually its good. i spoke to our head safty guy on friday, who is well aware of csa and when i asked him how come we havent heard anything from anyone in our company he didnt have an answer, and he said " thats a really good question " they had a meeting with fmcsa a few weeks back and an audit, and he said everything went really good, so they are aware of this, and i kinda got the feeling from his tone and conversation that he didnt seem to concerend about letting the drivers know, but in a good way if that makes sense. like he didnt need to let us know cause we are doing ok.... but i told him it might be good to send a fleet-wide qc message out just so everyone who does not have internet or sat radio can be informed about it. he said thats a great idea and would put something together to send out to all the drivers.

and no rick, its not that guy...

English should be enforced more! There were a few jobs I didn't qualify for here in SD because I don't speak Spanish. Why should the US continue to make concessions for people that come here that don't/won't learn to speak in our official language?? Who knows what other concessions the Mexican truckers will get? It's this kind of stuff that weakens our country and is going to send us rapidly to a third world debtor nation status!

Uh, OFFICIAL language? Excuse me? We don't HAVE an official language. English is as much an official language here as spanish. And perhaps thats the problem. The only sense that english is the official language here is that the FMCSA says that you have to read/write/speak english to drive a truck. Nothing else requires it, besides talking to the typical american.

And dont try to fight it. Don't wanna end up like canada, having TWO official languages. Ours would be english and spanish!

Why not just learn spanish? I know a bit of spanish and it's very fun because mexicans will speak it to eachother in public for the sole purpose of privacy...they think no one will know what theyre talking about...I say stupid things in spanish in public around them just to keep them on their toes. LOL theyll be talking and ill just said "Rojo maize!!!!!!" lol.....

They'll talk behind your back right in front of you in spanish.....
