please let me know about your case, i got a citation similar as yours but was on an a boulevard (street) on los angeles county, i didn't know this law was applicable on an street so i explained to the officer i need it to get my lane with enough time because if i wait til the last moment nobody let me get on that lane on order to make a left turn and going to my intended route, please let me know about your experience on this issue .thanks.

 

In response to post 467 I would just like to say that I think you underestimate the incompetence of the US bureaucracy.

A illegal who had previously been deported 3 times for serious crimes finally came back to the US and murdered someone. A truck was pulled over in Oregon and 3 Canadian nationals with the same CDL where taking turns driving the truck. And their are thousands of cases like this.

You set up how it should work, but many of the immigration laws are not enforced or poorly enforced.

The US leads the world in allowing immigrants, but does not enforce the borders. Anyone with a few bottles of water and some hiking boots can come here when ever they want and obtain the credentials and work in many fields of endeavor. And receive protection from city's, groups and employers.

The current labor dept admin wants a law to make it illegal to not pay people who are here illegally the federal minimum wage. So in other words creating federal laws to help those committing federal crimes

A senior senator was recently told by the Obama admin that border enforcement was being used as a bargaining chip to obtain comprehensive immigration reform (amnesty). Basically saying you pass amnesty then we will enforce current labor and immigration laws.

The Unions and libs love illegals as long as they can use them for votes and organizing and don't drive a non union high cost truck. The Rep like them as a cheap source of labor and would prefer a guest worker program.

The fact is you see more and more drivers on the road today who do not have English as their first language. And many come from country's where yearly wages are measured in the thousands, not tens of thousands.

 

Question:

Even though your citation was dismissed by the courts, do the points associated with the citation remain on your federal score for the new 2010 system?

According to the FAQ's on csa2010 only violations contained within a DOT inspection report will show up on csa2010 reports.

 

all of this starts next month..Also, it does state the owner of the truck will also be held accountable..How?

 

Enough violations to prove a trend of not keeping the fleet in repair and they'll go after the owner since he's the one who's expected to pay for maintenance, for one.
