    Here is my first CSA point ever.

    Tuesday I was hauling half of a mobile home, the plastic tore on the front so I started to pull over, just as I did Highway Patrol pulled in behind me. I hoped (in vein) that he was just going to ask if I need anything... NOPE.

    He took my paper work (permits license medical reg etc) of course everything was in order, I fixed my plastic.

    He comes back to the truck with my citation for "unsecured load". I explained that it WAS secured until the plastic tore, I said it should be an equipment failure for the manufacturer of the home... NOPE.

    CSA for me.

    I do not like looking like a rookie driver on paper. I have 23 years of accident free driving (of very dangerous loads) but a computer now thinks Im a danger to the motoring public.

    America=FAIL

    So, this was a response West coast trucker gave me for a question I posted at another thread http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...ulations/193423-csa-points-how-to-get-it.html

    And he added this...

    However, everybody talks about CSA "points" including companies. My company pays a third party vendor to provide them with drivers' CSA "points" based on data collected from DOT inspections. Although that is not accurate because it's not updated often and it misses information, my company and others rely on that info when evaluating their drivers and new ones.

    A friend of mine went to that FMCSA website and paid $ 10.00 under the assumption he would get his CSA "score". He already knew his violations from previous inspections and his records but some of the violations he couldn't find in the CSA guide and found everything very confusing... so he paid to get the info. But got just a list of violations, codes, descriptions, dates, etc, but no "points"! :biggrin_25510: He is PO! Wasted the money for nothing. :biggrin_25510:

    Anybody here going to that Trucking Social Media event in North Kansas City, MO this weekend? I heard that a FMCSA rep will be there to talk about CSA.

    I recently was looking into driving for another company and when I applied they ran my CSA. In 2012, I had a kid who was texting rear ended my trailer. The trooper who showed up wrote in his report that I was not at fault and ticketed the other driver for inattentive driving. Ok no big deal, but if you read the CSA report, it doesn't show this information, just shows I was involved in an accident with injury and tow away. Is there any indication that the reporting might be revamped to show if the driver was or wasn't at fault. I know you can explain the circumstances to most prospective employers but I can tell you all day long that I wasn't at fault but some employers will rely on what is on the paper.

    That's a PSP, all you have to do is explain to your employer (potential) what happened. If an employer doesn't know that all reportable accident are listed on a PSP its a place that you don't want to work in the first place. They're doing you a favor by not listening to you and not offering you employment.
