I really didn't quote any statistics. Mostly just my observations. I wasn't talking about fuel tankers.
I learned about fatal accidents happening to drivers with 2 plus years experience from a good friend who is a VP with Southeastern Freight Lines. I have known him for years and coached both of his sons.
When he found out I was driving a truck he pulled me aside and told me the most dangerous time in my driving career would be when I got comfortable with the equipment and lost that little bit of fear. It really kind of makes sense when you think about it. I am sure there is some study out there that he has read.

Our Govt. ahs worked hard for years to break the small companies in the US, including others besides trucking. At what point will it break the camels back so to speak with engines costing $10000 more, 25000 less drivers on the road according to estimates and all the new rules and regs and if you caa keep up with them you have an IQ of 160 or better. When can you idle a truck in your home state? Anybody knwo? I dont.
kickin chicken and JustSonny Thank this. -
The idle laws vary so greatly from state to state who could keep up with it? Again all these laws and regs are being passed and who does it affect the most? The driver.JustSonny Thanks this.

Maybe when the 4 wheelers are grossing 40 tons?
Seriously though. They do. In most states if you mess up enough, you build points, then lose the privilege to drive.JustSonny Thanks this. -
