For all those of you who are dreading the CSA start date. How about looking at this from another prospective?
You manage to maintain a reasonably clean CSA throughout your employment history. But you're suddenly and without reason dismissed from your job. Or you simply quit without notice.
Well, now you need a job. What is the first thing your "new" employer is going to look at ? Your DAC or your CSA ?
What if your CSA comes back clean? And your DAC comes back with #### on it, that you were unaware of and believe to be patently false.
What is your "new" company going to think and say about your old company? The CSA will shine a glaring light on dirtbag companies, for all to see.
While you can't do anything about your DAC. You can do something about your CSA.
Keep it clean
CSA may save your future/job.

Please explain CSA completely and deeply.
Thanks.

Google CSA 2010 and you will turn up the website with all the info on it. There is too much to explain on here.
Interesting way of looking at it there Danc. I do agree with you on that theory. It may also finally give drivers the back up for telling companies to do things right. Might, maybe, we'll see. -
I know it's put the fear of God in the company I work for, and they've had some pretty good safestat scores historically.
We say no...end of conversation, until they find a load we can do legally.
Yesterday was a prime example for me. Scheduled unload was delayed, couldn't make scheduled pick up legally. They sent a local driver to pick up load while I slept, then I unloaded and grabbed my load home.rocknroll nik and zentrucking Thank this. -
Glad to hear it is actually working with some companies. Granted, it hasn't been fully rolled out yet, but this could be the start of something decent.

Can't do it, sorry. It's too big for me to get my entire brain around.
Short version, you and your company will have a safety data score.
Once that score reaches a certian point. YOU will lose your job, and CDL for a period of time.
Your company will lock the doors...forever.
Projected DAY ONE of CSA implementation job loses, just over 175,000 drivers and 3000 - 5000 companies will close the doors. -
So when is this going to be put in operation?
-
Safety at our company says October.
-
Interesting thought! I think you have something there!

I'm not sure at this point. It was projected for this month. Then delayed until September.
And I've heard in the last couple of weeks, it has been put off until November. But FMCSA says it will be in full effect by the end of the year.
If you would like to do a little light reading on it, here's a link.

It's going to be rough for the first year or so I suspect.
