Right. CSA for Companies, PSP for drivers. It costs money to see your PSP, maybe $15.

This is why they are talking about 50,000 driver shortage.

"I'm sorry baby, I got fired today."
    " What did you do?"
" Marker light was out again."

But some goony goo hoo mofo that can't even fuel his truck, will be considered the safe driver because he has no points.

Hey its all about safety right? That marker light should have been caught by the driver on the pre trip. At least that's the way some ppl look at it. And not the fact that it went out afterwards.

A potential employer safety director told me that the psp proves if you did a proper pre trip or not. I told him he was the dumest SOB I ever heard of. And walked out!

Marker lights go out while driving down the road. That was the case with mine one night while driving for an owner operator. I get pulled over by the trooper and he gave me a warning. About a year later I applied for a job with a larger carrier and it showed up on my PSP.

But from what I’m reading only the carriers post points on the transcript not the FMCSA or any other government entity. But it was a warning ! I threw the warning slip in the trash ! No harm done right ? The owner operator never knew about the light. Or the warning. I replaced it myself. So how did this guy with one truck and no knowledge of what a psp or a CSA even was, post it on my record?

About a year later I got an email from this guy at OOIDA. He wanted information about my PSP score and wanted to know if I could fax him a copy of mine. Apparently they were in the process of filing another class action lawsuit against someone about this psp crap.

    True that.

And you know the kicker?? In my time before there was even a internet to learn about the PSP at all... it's a kept secret among trucking companies, they don't tell drivers *&% about those resources.

Now you can bring in a 10 dollar copy direct to the company and say here. Zero points. Hire me.

I’ve got 2 DOT violations on my PSP report. They are both over a year old. Each year after a violation they decrease in value by 33%. So my score is already better. Looking forward to having nothing on my PSP report. I’m a serious person in real life and it bothers me that I have these 2 smudges.
