What's vol? After reading some of the replies here I'm guessing that since a driver can pull his own score, a prospective company where a driver is looking to get hired on at will require him to either sign a release so the company can pull the driver's score or require the driver provide it himself.

This entire CSA thing seems just a tad too bureaucratic with confusion reigning supreme. Trying to decipher some of the information on the CSA website is as dry as reading the tax code.

Now I'm more confused than before. If a driver has a few violations from inspections (no fines or tickets, just simple violations such as a light out, etc.), he is still assigned points. I believe it's two points for a light out. Those points are multiplied by three for the first year, two for the second and after the third year they fall off completely. So a driver technically does have a point score with CSA from the way I understand it. Yea, confusion.

Drivers don't have CSA.. company's use a private company that they turn in the inspections too and log it that way. Only other way is to pull the PSP. Your dac has nothing to do with ur CSA lol

Edit: I belive our point system is just points on cdl for CSA like when u would get a ticket on a normal dl for speeding and they add points. I think that's how they really wanted the CSA #### to work.

I'm familiar with the DAC and HireRight but drivers do get points via the CSA system separate from the CDL. http://www.whatiscsa.com/driver/

I'm still not grasping if carriers can access driver CSA points or "data" via the psp as my previous post and link indicates. It reads like carriers can access the data information regarding inspection violations and the such but not the actual accumulation of points, which makes no sense to me as if a carrier can access the data then the carrier can simply add up the point violations to sum up the total accumulation of points (shrug).

A carrier has to add it up themselves(for now) I'm sure that at some point it will change and the driver will have a score that is visable.

A motor carrier rep is able to look into PORTAL daily. It is updated w/ every inspection report and any crash reports that are filed against he carrier's DOT number. I know about any inspections we receive before it is turned in and will 'remind' dispatch to have it turned in...

The carrier can see what your CSA points are from CSA data when you work for that particular carrier. Currently, they cannot see data from another carrier that you worked for but the data will be on your PSP. So, this data is entered ina a database for you the driver, whomever you work for, for a period of time just like CSA scores for carriers. So, the question if, Whom gets use of this data, currently not the carrier that you may currently work for, however, the real stink of it IS that it may be possible for insurance companies to see or use it. If the data is there whom may gain access to it, if not now in the future?
