If what you say is correct, and I believe it is, we can be sanctioned, punished, whatever word you want to use, suffer adverse effects to our carreer and livelyhood based an an accusation! The LEO becomes Judge, jury, and executioner. Meanwhile, the drunk can get his liscense back after 13 DUIs! We have all seen the stories in the news about that. But let me forget to put the trailer # on my logsheet 1 too many times and my carreer is over???
Am I the only driver that sees the double standard being forced on us here? I am BEYOND OUTRAGE over this!
Truckdrivers have 10 times more laws regulating our behavior. Our tickets cost us more money. We are held more responsible b/c we are the "professional". Yet we get paid like amatuers, and treated like criminals! Our gov't labels us as "unskilled labor" for crying out loud!
Now they want to take away my job if I am a lousy bookkeeper, or otherwise labeled "unfit". But the 4 wheeler can be a habitual offender can still drive!

That's right Dave. You have answered this question for yourself numerous times. It's not about safety it's about how much money can they get out of each of us!

If it's money they want, (of course it is!) then they are ignoring the fact that there are ALOT MORE CARS than trucks out there!
Just think of all that money they could be stealing from 4 wheelers if they put their resources into that!
Or could it be that the 4 wheelers would fight tooth and nail if they had to deal with the same oppressive garbage that we do? and we just bend over and take it in the pooper silently!
    WAKE UP, DRIVERS!!!
When are you going to decide enough already? When your truck is repo'd and your house is foreclosed on and your family is homeless and hungry???
Wont happen to you? I have a good job you say? Yeah, right, the Titanic was unsinkable, the check is in the mail, and your girlfriend is on the pill too! Btw, I actually had dinner the other nite with the Tooth Fairy AND the Easter Bunny at the North Pole!

No reading comprehension issues on my part. Go back & read his statements again & tell me he doesn't give 2 different dates on when he last wrote a ticket.

According to CSA2010, if a driver were to make such errors on his logbook he would be in violation & have points put on his record that could potentially add up & cost him his job.

Go to 10 different DOT inspectors & ask the same question regarding the regulations & I guarantee you will get a couple of different interpretations from them. Don't ask them while they are standing beside each other, they will just back up there brother officers, ask them at different times & locations then compare notes on the answers you get.

I said the same thing a few pages back but got told I was full of it.

MikeMD cannot possible believe in his heart that a missing BOL # or forgetting to fill out miles or sign your log has any thing to do with safety. But it sure has a lot to do with revenue generation.

And before he comes on here and tells me that forgetfulness has every thing to do with fatigue I might remind him that some of us don't have very good memories. I've been forgetting A LOT of things since I was in my teens. At times its pretty embarrassing, and it has less than 0.0% to do with fatigue.

The gooberment is not all knowing, and neither are DOT cops all knowing. You are human and prone to errors THE SAME AS ANY BODY ELSE!!!!!!!!!!!

Speaking of which, why aren't LEO's held to the same standards? They're armed ffs, yet they can practically get away with anything, including murder. Our only recourse is to catch them on tape and show it to enough people before they steal the video.

I am really amazed how grown men and women can whine about having to do their job (keeping an accurated record (log) of your daily work) and when they don't do their job they want to know why they may lose it. The difference between a professional and the rookie, apprentice, or wannabe is his/her knowledge and ability to use the tools of the trade (log book) in a correct and accurate manner. Would you hire a carpenter that can't use a hammer? If you are indeed a professional you should have no issues with form and content, if you log it as you do it, when you do it, all the other issues go away.

If that's too difficult, I submit that you are NOT a professional. You need to go back to school, training or whatever and get it right. If that's too much trouble go get a real 40 hour boss looking over your shoulder job. No logs, no LEO's to worry about. Then you can whine about something else.

Would you want to be a carpenter if you had to document every nail?

I'm sure that you, thr "professional", have never made a mistake, or forgot anything, or overlooked something important, right???
The point here is not to whine about having a job to do, it is about inapproiate punishment for minor offenses and how stupid it seems to lose your job over something so incosequential and meaningless as proper form.
When we were kids in school, did we get expelled for not bringing pen to class? Not likely.
