Well, the reason I left is that I am a project manager. When I called them last year, I was between contract gigs. I made it clear that I wouldn't be there forever, and they were just fine with that. Started early March, left late October and told them to keep the porch light on for me. I am told I am welcome back anytime. I hadn't worked for Arthur since Jan of 2014 when I got sick of Celadork's nonsense when they bought Freight Systems. Went to Schneider for three weeks (all I could handle) then over to JCT until June of 2014 when I started a PM gig.

They have QC so legal logging, but that didn't stop ME from running in excess of 3900 miles one week.

Governed at 65 when I left there last October, but you might want to see if that changed. There was a rumor about going to 63mph.

And yes, I would definitely go back. They have already called, and my current PM gig is getting close to ending, so I'm considering returning if I cannot find another PM gig at home.

To be very honest, I'm also looking at another couple possibilities OTR or Regional, but nobody is going to pay me what CSQT will. To be honest, I prefer pulling reefers.

Keep in mind folks, CSQT has times where freight slows down too, or some bottom-feeder like Swift comes along and undercuts the rates. It happens everywhere. Other than working for Arthur Beech at Frieight Systems, and continuing on there after Celadork bought us out, I worked for him at CSQT from March 7th, 2016 to October 20th 2016. Scott is the Operations Manager and came down to Little Rock with Celadork, and stayed with Arthur when he finally got out of that very bad deal. Scott will see to it that his dispatchers run you like you want to be run (for me, it was "run me like a bat out of haydes"). As long as the freight is available, you will have something in your trailer.

Some weeks, you might be doing 4-5 500 mile runs (add it up). Some you might have a few 900+ mile runs. But if you can get it there on time (or earlier and use your negotiation/bribing skills to deliver early), you'll be rewarded with more miles.

Like I said, I averaged 3000+ miles every week. Yeah, some 2800 mile weeks, but that happens, but I ran the steers off of that truck and usually did 3200+ regularly, 3500 frequently, and 3600+ on occasion. At .45/mi, do the math. I was at .39/mi when I left.

For me, it was a game. See how fast I could get that load to where it needed to be (LEGALLY of course, don't even THINK about running over your time!!), get it off early if possible (nagging receivers, begging receivers, $30 bribe and donuts, check in and LIE that "dispatch said it was to deliver TODAY at 9am, not tomorrow!"), then get the next load.

Paper out of Little Rock (pickup locally or down in Arkansas City), bring something else back through to Dallas, Omaha, Indiana, etc. From Dallas/Ft Worth, pickup paper to Nashville AR, or Coke to Hot Springs AR. Also picked up paper in North and South Carolina and ran to Ohio, Texas, etc....

Don't forget to ask them about the referral bonus for NEW BUSINESS. It's pretty juicy. Find a company, get contacts, pass it on to Arthur, he'll do the rest, and you get money.

To add: There are plenty of drop/hook opportunities too.
Dap from Ohio to Dallas (d/h both sides)
D/H pickup from Dallas to Virginia (retail shelving, very light)
D/H pickup paper from Pine Bluff or Whitehall to wherever
D/H pickup paper from Gaston NC to wherever
D/H pickup clothing from NC to Ft Worth
D/H pickup paper or Coca Cola from Ft Worth to Hot Springs or Nashville AR,
D/H pickup paper from South Carolina to the Gulf states or Houston

    ETC.... he has trailers everywhere.

    • 73% of revenue plus fuel surcharge
From the website. I'm not a lease kinda guy, but seems good with low payments, problem is.... look at how LONG the lease is.

Looks great if you want to "rent" a truck (Like I did at JCT) to make a bunch of revenue though.

Ok, so after consideration, and the fact that companies aren't chasing me down yet for Project Manager jobs, I'm going to start back at CSQT on Monday.

Good deal. That's the way I left it last year. Run like blazes, don't play games, and SCALE THAT PAPER!

Let me know if you are around the yard Monday. I expect to be pulling something out late afternoon, assuming the tractor I pick is ready and I can get everything in place, including my inverter
