If you come here, make sure you bring some asprin, for heart attacks and some major xanax. I just got back from there. I had to bob tail from Indianapolis to here to pick up an empty trailer. It was such a rat maze and all the walls are glass. You see the cheese, but you can't get to it. First, I went through the gate, which resembles toll gates. You have to give information and get a ticket. After I did that, I went and got my trailer. Then proceeded to go out the gate. I tried to ask one of the useless guard dogs where the truck gate was at, but the ######### did not notice me flashing them with my brights and me waving my hands. So, I went out the only gates I could see. Which turned out to be the wrong ones. I had to back out and go out the correct ones. I went towards there, and there is a tiny little portal (to Hell) I had to go through so I could get out and then go home. Well, my ticket would not scan, so I had to have help. Then, they let me out. But I had to get my finger prints registered. NICE THAT I WAS TOLD ABOUT THIS BEFOREHAND!!!!!!!!!!!! I was pissed. I had to turn around, go through the yard again and go to the "Driver Assistance" area. That is a ####### lie. Driver assistance my ###!! My dispatchers did not give me a pull up number so my fingerprints could not get registered. So I had to call them many times to get them to tell me the right number. So, after about 30 minutes beating my head against a wall and talking to the stupid Chicago #######, I got what I needed and then proceeded back through the portal to Hell and then back to the gate. Then I got a little test, or what seemed like it was on the prompter. Then, I was allowed to leave. I swear to God, I HATE CHICAGO!!!!!!!!!! I've met nothing but idiots and morons and brick walls in Chicago. The place needs to be quarantined and then purged of all dumbassness!!!!

I worked out of the CSX terminal in Cleveland . You are right , it can be trying before you learn the drill. I also worked from the N and S railhead , and their dog and pony show was different than CSX ' s. Been in and out of Dundalk , Seagirt , locust point , port elizabeth and chicago. The pace is frantic and the staff is rude , crude and unattractive. Get A chassis , then get A box mounted , check it all over and find lights that are gone , landing gear is hell to move , A flat tire or ? ? ? Get in line to get it fixed. Friday PM , @ 4:00 , You are in for A big bite out the proverbial poop sandwich.......along with the 60 or 70 drivers waiting with you to get out of that place ! Everyday experience. The good news is that once the crew knows you , and you are up to speed on procedures, it gets better. The people working there go through A slightly different version of the driver's hell , and when you " get it " , you will find them to be friendly and helpful . They complain about stupid drivers , drivers grouse about A nasty lift operator or gate checker. When I first started in and out of CSX E152nd. , Cleveland , I was banned from the property for A week, until my fleet manager and dispatcher got me back in. A clerical error. After that , no problems . I worked as an O/O for Horizon and BTT, had great dispatchers and management. That makes A difference too. My worst hassles were at port elizabeth picking up heavy equipment for delivery . That's A different story! LOL !
