ok I'll get my 2 cents on on this one as well..
Started with CT back in April, running out of the Mocksville terminal, and all in all I have more good to say than bad, simply because the bad issues are more like detials and the good relate to the overall picture. I have made it home every weekend and only had one day since June where I didn't make it home by Friday, the miles are up and down (which you can expect from any company) but more good than bad, although not the 3000 a week avg that the Recruiter bragged so much on.. and as long as you're not a whiny little girl about things the terminal staff will usually treat you right. As for the bad the trucks are probably the worst on the road road trucks limited to 62 and daycabs to 57 or 58 (although there are a few old WSE trucks that will run closer to 70). Most are in terrible condition and are supplied mainly off parts pulled from wrecked trucks, plus they are automatic (ew!) and the "new trucks" have been put off time and time again even since I started just 8 months ago. Most trailers are also in terrible states of disrepair. I've also heard that the more experienced drivers usually get less miles since, duh, its cheaper to pay new drivers per mile. And yes it can be hard to get directions out of your dispatcher at times but instead of whining about it stop being lazy and just call the shipper or customer. Also the freight can be somewhat monotonis at times( drywall drywall drywall shingles shingles shingles oh, yayy lumber!). So overall not a terrible company to start for flatbed and get experience, but not exactly the place that everyone would want to make a 20 year commitment.

It's funny for a company that supposedly "sucks" so much they sure as heck never hire in Brooksville. I worked out of that terminal, and it's not that bad. I've had an application in with them forever now and all I get is "we're not currently hiring".

try pgt in pa
steel flatbed
took me a while to get used to flatbed
kinda physical -
PA is just a temporary thing for me, I live in Florida. My wife went to nursing school up here and is living back in Brooksville, but I'm not willing to give up my job here to go down to Florida to look for a job, I'm trying to secure something prior to going home.

I too live in palm bay and i am actually scheduled for orientaton with CCC the beginning the first of may. I know the pay is not as glamerous as an otr driver.but i just bought a new house and have a young daughter with another on the way so it was a choice i had to make for myself. i know i wont stay with CCC forever. in fact ill probably get a year with them and go onto someone else. But 30,000 a year is twice as much as what im making now. So is there any positive advice that someone can give me about this company. They are very reputable through all of the other big trucking names ive talked to. Which have said once i have a year with them they will hire me because of the local in town experience.
