No leaks, mine leaked at the back of the head from the cam covers.

Mine does the exact same thing. I buy Rotella at sam's too and change oil every 12 to 15000 no leaks and it runs great. I will say the truck had a fresh oil change with Rotella when I bought it in august and never dropped on the dipstick at all then I started buying my oil at sam's club because for a case of 6 gallons comes out to 11.05 a gallon I think which is pretty good for Rotella. I am wondering if the sam's club version of Rotella is slightly different or something. I am going to change oil this weekend with Rotella again but not from sam's club I think this is probably a long shot but I have no oil leaks or smoke except when it regenerates it will blow a little smoke but not enough to justify that much oil loss.

I don't think it's the oil because my truck been doing same thing with other oil, but i think Rotella is really good the one from sam's club. Gallon Oil is always better then the drum i believe.

let me know if you figure out the cause of eating oil, my truck only has 450k miles so it really shouldn't suck oil, I'm going to be getting ECM updated and valve tuneup and see if anything will help there...

I really don't think so either but I've heard a lot of major retailers sell products that are made to their specs so they can sell them at the price they want. I wouldn't think Rotella but then wal mart sells a lot of oil for usually cheaper than everyone else. I just thought it's somewhere to start based on my experiences and almost free you are gonna buy oil anyway if you pay a little more for it and don't lose any probably gonna come out about the same

I have been told to use DELO CHEVRON with ISX, it has low soot level.

I used chevron, I don't care for it there so called synthetic is worse a low grade group 3 oil at best for a regular oil I use rotella t3 or even Valvoline I think cummins owns Valvoline. Just saying..........

I heard Cummins didn't own Valvoline from the big fatty with the big mouth while he was at the lunch counter stuffing his face.

(and I used to work for Valvoline)

Cummins doesn't own Valvoline but their premium blue 15-40 is cummins endorsed. I have used it in my isx & my 2 dodge's with good results.
Used to run rotella but tried the premium blue in all three & they all seem to like it better than the rotella. I also use delvac 1300 in them with good results.
Just depends on which one is on sale when I need it.
