Hello i got cummins isx 2008 kenworth, it cranks but not start , fuel pump is working.it seems something stoping engine to start up after crank , any help

I got cummins isx 2008 kenworth, it cranks but not starting, i hear fuel pump is working. Any electrical issue?

If you can hear the little electric primer pump at key on, that at least means the engine computer is working and booting up at key on. Most electrical issues will cause a check engine light. Make sure at key on there is power at your shut down solenoid. Check for fuel, change your fuel filters because it sounds like a fuel issue.

The shutdown valve is the little square block with a single wire going to it on the side of the fuel manifold, above the fuel filter. It is basicially an electro-magnet solenoid that holds open a valve. When you turn off the key, the ECM kills the power to the solenoid. There is a round disc shaped something like a salad bowl inside that acts like a spring to force the valve closed. The valve it self is another solid round disc about the size of dollar coin, 3/8" thick. What usually happens is over time and many many cycles the valve starts to wear and gets stuck. You can try this fix your self. It is a 50/50 thing. You can remove the wire, and unscrew the 4 screws that hold the shutoff valve to the fuel manifold. You have to be careful. There is actually a spacer plate in between the solenoid, (square block) and the fuel manifold. This spacer plate is where the spring and valve are. Try to remove the whole block and spacer with out anything falling out. Mark which way is the top. Lay the parts out as they were originally. Make sure that there isn't any dirt or scale built up inside. You will see the spacer plate, you will see the marks on it from where the valve has be riding. Clean the parts and reassemble the spacer plate with the valve upside-down. It won't matter if it is upside-down, the valve is round and up/down doesn't matter. Just make sure it still faces the same direction with the spring. Because you have reassembled it upside-down the valve and spacer will be riding on a fresh, unworn surface. Plus, since you have cleaned it, you have a good chance it will be fine. The only bad thing is the old worn orings. You won't know if they will leak until you reassemble it. If they leak, you will need new ones obviously. Give that a try! Good luck!
