I worked on them for 30 years and yes most every time I had an engine down the bearings had less wear than most other parts.
I think now it's not prudent to replace bearings until a overhaul. Unless I had oil pressure issues I wouldn't touch them.
Especially in the Cummins engines, now that they want the bearing cap mating surfaces to have a loctite type bonding agent applied to them at assembly. This is to help prevent the caps and block from fretting
