Ok. I was just wondering what an ISX ran for oil pressure.

After its all warmed up, is there much coming out of the blowby tube? Is it dripping oil out of the blowby?
-
Before I bought my truck it had a overhaul @112000 with an aftermarket kit it went 300k with oil consumption increasing to 2 gallons @12k miles.Pulled head all liners were polished and 3 pistons the rings were lined up with carbon packing to the oil rings and another overhaul.

Has the oil relief plunger campaign been performed on this engine? Off the top of my head I believe Cummins runs an exceptable oil pressure of 10 psi at idle, but don't hold me to it, I would have it taken to a shop and have a compression test done on your cylinders and check to see if the oil shaft seal in the turbo is starting to leak, possible valve guide seals are leaking also. Unless this engine was bellowing black smoke I'm not sure why you were told it needed an in frame without any testing. Check to see if your crankcase breather is pushing oil out the draft tube also. I assume there are no external leaks?
superhill56 Thanks this. -

Does this ISX have the crankcase filter? If it does, has it been checked or changed?
-
It doesn't. It's the year right before the crankcase filter I think. I was advised to do that until I realized I don't have a filter
bigguns Thanks this.
