Question for you guys. I have a 1993 International Dump Truck with a Cummins L10 330. I was told it had 400k on it when l brought. Truck runs good but I would like to put a little more fuel to it. I called the Cummins dealer since it has a ECM on it it was told that it had a mechanical fuel pump on it. From my novice I looking at it I can't see where it's mechanical. Am I missing something and can be the fuel be turned up for just have to be programmed in the ECM.
Thanks for any help.

If it does not have a rod or a cable to the fuel pump it is not mechanical. Does it have a wiring harness going to the injectors?
Dino soar and spsauerland Thank this. -
No red, no cable. The accelerator has a sensor under the pedal. As far as the injectors, I would assume they have a wiring harness but not near the truck and never paid any attention.

Pics? Do they have the same style fuel system as the big cams?

Well back home now and did I little research. The motor tag reads L10 330E. From what I can see the stands for electronic fuel pump. Why is the Cummins dealer telling me they can't turn the fuel up? They just don't want to fool with it i guess.

A shop that specializes in injection pumps might tweak it for you. Install a pyro if u don't have one

If I remember right it’s a hermorphidite engine. The pump is mechanical with electronic controls. It’s neen a while since I’ve worked on one

So to get more pulling power out of it is not possible? I dont need anything top end, just would like a little more on the bottom end.
Or just wait for it to run its life out and upgrade.Humblepie Thanks this.
