Unfortunately I don't remember where my mechanic connected at the pump

If that is your fuel restriction gauge that is on the suction side , you won't have pressure there. That is what I was trying to tell you in my earlier post. If there is a problem with the gauge or line it will let the fuel drain back and cause hard starting.

Thank you. That is what I was trying to figure out. I'm going to get a cap for that hose tomorrow and see if it helps.

Star Rider you were right. I capped off that fuel filter gauge line and now my truck fires right up. Unfortunately it didn't solve my stutter issue. The truck is still running real rough between 1100-1500 RPM. Mainly in higher range gears when under load. Sometimes if I ease off the throttle and back in the stutter gets better. After I run hard it seems to idle a little rough too.

I've never done an overhead on this truck. Maybe thats my issue. I'm not really sure.

So you disconnected your fuel restriction gauge line and plugged the port it was attached to and the truck starts right away now?

Would that indicate the line was cracked or damaged and sucking air?

Damaged line or diaphragm in the guage itself lets just enough air in to let the fuel in the suction line drain back causing hard starting.

I'm wondering if my strange vibration/miss at 1200-1500 rpms is either an injector issue from sucking air for a while. or maybe its a bad engine position sensor. I ordered a code reader so I can see if I'm pulling any codes. Issue seems to start acting up after the truck warms up. I have no smoke either.

Read the codes first , but N-14 was famous for cam sensor problems

I ran the truck yesterday... parked it for about 20 minutes and when I went to start it the check engine light was on (with the key in the start position). Went off once I started the truck. My issue is only there at certain RPMS and gets worse the warmer the truck gets. I thought it seems like a sensor more than a mechanical issue. I hope its a cam sensor. I'll definitely keep the thread update with what I find out.
