The Skipshooter will bend that far... the 7' Firestik is thicker and won't.

    Night Stalker10 Thanks this.

@Highway speed the 7ft ss will stand nearly vertical...Thats also why its likely failed...The wound wire near the base takes most of the flexing and is likly the issue..

If the fs doesnt flex then it adds strain down by the stud area..Likely to break quicker than a flexing ant like the skipper does..

Bull pucky!! A ss is tuneable...A7ft ant will out perform a 5 ft ant..

Thats like compareing a v 6 and a v8 in the same car..

On a cascadia with mirrors so low you need a tall ant and the taller it is the more angle you need to keep it from aligning up with the cab and height restrictions.....I was running a 7ft ss and loved it till i got my 102 and a 10" riser..
Both were angled at about 40 deg so i didnt have above noted issues...Tuneing when sittin still is good but if possible to simulate highway speed then i would then chk and see if there is much of a change.....Till i get down time in a warmer state or canada thaws then im leaveing well enough alone.. received_728910847536139.jpeg

It flexes, just not as much as the SS.

    Another tid bit of info...
I noticed that the tip of my pl259 wasnt exactly touching the bolt head that connects the stud together(running a hd alum wilson stud)....I wound up a tiny lil bit of copper wire(and i mean a tiny bit)to partly fill the gap in the center of the bolt head..TA DAAA made a diff..
Kinda had the idea but also confirmed with rabbi on that...Its also partly how i achieved the readings in a pic i posted here...

Couldnt tell ya v....Only saw one on a trk in the lot, never touched one or seen one up close..Soooo no idea how much it does flex BUT i have seen a few say they dont flex much...
Unless it has the tuneable tip i wouldnt own a firestick.....I dont trust myself with the cut to tune version..
Im the kinda person who will try to cut a smidge more just to get a smidge better and end up friggin it up all together..

Ok very good. I didn’t know that they were designed to flex that much. I learned something new today, tnx.
