Sure, but, having applied to 50 places back in Sep-Dec with only 5 companies with genuine offers, I picked that best of what I saw at the time and hope to build with it until I can find a job like you described. I'm sure if I picked one of the other 4 megas I had the option of picking, the grass wouldn't have been too much greener on the other side.

That's what I'm doing now is "building-up that resume." I assume most OTR places I've applied to decline me because I have little OTR experience (mostly local experience), and I assume most local places decline me because I've had several local jobs fold or end and on my job history that looks like job-hopping. I want to get into tanker, but I assume most tanker places decline because I don't have enough experience, or tanker experience, or OTR miles, or don't live in their area, or they're not hiring for their tanker division at the time. So, I'm just putting in my due diligence.

I think you're doing fine if you can comfortably survive in that scenario. There's a big difference between 9 months on a job and a year and a half. If you have a sketchy job history, whether your fault or not, your options are limited. The longer you stay there and do well, the better options will multiply. Rather than moving incrementally up through 2-3 jobs over the next 5 years, you're better off sticking it out until you find a permanent home. Your next move could be your last if you're patient.
I suspect where you're at can see you're dependable and you may get some better runs with a better truck.
Good luck, I'm optimistic for your future.
